  1. He didn't look very good last night on low outside pitches. Has he already adjusted, though?
  2. If I'm getting that come-hither look from the other side of the room, I'm finding a new bar
  3. Need A Job? What About A Fabulous Career In Chick Sexing?
  4. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_I_l6v1BILrg/TVCWWAtEpxI/AAAAAAAAABc/G6uuQIbIvx8/s1600/trollsX.jpg The moron community frowns upon your attempt to lump them in with politicians.
  5. The females, most probably.
  6. Here's some. http://www.twincities.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/wpid-20120223__120226-peeps.jpg Nature's most perfect food.
  7. Why did we even bother fighting the Fascists in WWII? 40% of our country subscribes to their view.
  8. I paid attention to Palka in the field when I watched a game in Pawtucket a couple weeks ago, and he's not a butcher but still will be limited defensively. Half a step up from plodding, good arm but missed a cutoff man, that kind of thing. He has to continue with the big bat in order to make it in the majors, and that is always a risky proposition even with a good minor league resume, because he has nothing else to fall back upon. Coming up as a DH only type, if his manager decided his was Arcia level defense, would probably be beyond his capability at the plate. Still, he is someone to invest time and resources in. Could have a major league career. BTW, Thomas Field at age 29 is on no one's prospect list, but I'm here to say that, in the same game, watching him fail to even go after a ball up the third base line because he apparently thought it was foul (it was not), and making an unnecessary out as a baserunner, has me thoroughly on the find-someone-else bandwagon for third base emergency-callup-dude.
  9. In 188 total plate appearances. That's still Hurricane Hazle territory. I don't know whether three weeks in Rochester will cure anything, but total mastery of AAA is not a reason to not try it.
  10. The math says you plan to get more innings out of your (current) bullpen pitchers by having the starters go even fewer innings than now. I suspect guys like Pressly and Tonkin currently are not capable of many more innings than they already cover, unless they go less than all-out and suffer a downturn in performance.
  11. A manager with a reputation for directly tinkering with a batter would not be the way to attract and keep the batting coach you want. However, a sequence of conversations with the batting coach, say while the team is in the field, could have the desired effect. Day 1: Molitor: What do you think will get Buxton going? Bruno: He just needs a little more time to get comfortable. He'll come around. Molitor: <pause> That Kepler sure is on fire... Day 2: Molitor: I wonder what Buxton needs at the plate. Bruno: I just tell the guys to let it rip, and not worry about the strikeouts. He'll be fine. Molitor: <pause> Mauer is looking like his old self, isn't he... ... Day N+1: Molitor: Buxton's having a rough time up there today. Bruno: I read on TD that his swing's a little long. It's not crazy. I was kinda noticing that myself lately. Molitor: Good thought. Why don't you talk to him about it, see if he's open to a little change. Fin.
  12. I'd settle for just losing the extreme uppercut.
  13. I was promised fun. Leaving, disappointed. And a bit squicked.
  14. Buxton would have had that last one.
  15. TMI, TYVM. Ah, we're playing the Punchline Game, are we?
  16. Said another way, every pitcher gets tagged with the occasional unearned run.
  17. If they were gonna call me names, they needed to learn what it meant.
  18. AKA, Game Night, Chez Ashbury.
  19. Don't be vain. You also have bad breath.
  20. Instant front-runner for post of the year.
