  1. Dozier just gave a clinic on how to defeat the shift, even without a bat in his hands.
  2. Uff. He's definitely due for some kind of adjustment to the adjustments he's seeing, if he wants to stick.
  3. The swing and miss accomplished the same thing without consuming an out. Yet.
  4. Because expectations have rightly been raised so much higher, natch.
  5. Ah dub-dub dub-dub Doubleday. Gotcha.
  6. (He's my Adopt-A-Prospect after all.)
  7. Nice job by Florimon keeping the bad throw to second from sailing into CF rather than try to stay on the bag too long in vain hope of the DP.
  8. You're going to have to help me out on this one, Chief.
  9. I'm two miles from the Californy border, or one mile if I want to hike straight up a hill 1000 feet in the air. I get out all the time.
  10. That's my excuse. Perfect day for a 11.5 mile hike out and back to a very cool mountain lake. http://www.everytrail.com/guide/marlette-lake-direct (Doesn't look that way today, much snow remains, but I haven't uploaded any photos yet.)
  11. Kenny has been swinging the bat for the Rock Cats after a somewhat slow start, and his batting average for them is up to .292. He has struck out 3 times in 29 PA, somewhat below his established norm, and even though this is still just a Small Sample Size, larger samples come from continue success in the small scale. He's also doubled a couple of times, stolen a couple of bases, and walked four times. All this leads to an OPS for New Britain of .789, based on a very high rate of getting on base and not a lot of power. It's a little disturbing that he has committed two errors in his short time, but let's chalk that up to nerves and maybe trying to do too much to impress his new team, OK?
  12. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night. / not with that remaining contract, of course - so just hoping for the best
  13. Ain't too proud to beg, that's my motto. (Talkin' 'bout my girl, of course.)
  14. You know I hate to be judgmental and all, but that would be one homely chick. On a more positive note, if they play tonight in this weather, they'll be earning their salaries. Well, except for... no, must not say.
  15. I once had Russian dressing, then I found out it has beets in it. Ew. / PS: stochastic != stoichiometry, as I bet you know
  16. Or, treat life as a multi-stage stochastic process, take your best forecasts and make your decisions at each stage, and then live with the results. [/geek]
  17. Irrelevant to anything, but... Separated at... whatever time they could grow beards at least.
  18. The previous morning.
  19. I re-read the title, and asked, "really? They finally found any in him?"
  20. Tempting? It seems baked right into the plan for the start of the season.
  21. But then some pitcher might get splinters in his hand from having to bat. Won't someone please think of the pitchers?
  22. That would be "Wilson". Don't you be typing about my Adopt-A-Prospect in that tone of voice.
