  1. Criminy, missed our chance to sell high at the deadline on Perkins.
  2. I worked for a while at IBM but it didn't compute. I worked for a while at Cray but after further Research they let me go. I worked for a while at Control Data but, uh, left due to lack of self-discipline.
  3. I don't know what y-... oh, get your mind out of the gutter.
  4. ... which you will find out has burned down (in spite of the rain). Time for deck painting. See y'all in a few hours maybe.
  5. i can haz toolz? rofl Hammer and screwdriver, and today paintbrush, are tools of ignorance in this corner. I saw "RPG", spotted the $5 price which made me go Hm?, saw it was offered in PDF format, and *still* was slow to catch on that this wasn't a computer simulation game. They still make role playing games you play with friends in your parents' basement at your kitchen table, apparently. Would have been perfect for ModCon14. rofl
  6. If that. Any team with a 3B with qualified PA with similar or better stats will say "we're set for 2015". Any team with a 3B who didn't qualify due to minor injury, or who has a decent track record but had a bad year, will say "we're set". Any team with a stud prospect who is near ready and can be used at 3B will say "we're set". Any team with a player manning a more difficult position that they can slide over to third will say "we're set". That's why Span was such a valuable trade chip. CF isn't nearly as easy to say "we're set" about.
  7. Moderator's note. For the moment, I agree with this as a legitimate baseball topic, but be forewarned a conservative approach to moderating can be expected. No photos; no links, please. That's what Google's for (been there done that already ). Post like adults; no wait, my youngest son is 21, act like you're older than that. No, Verlander himself is 31, so maybe the bar should be set above that.

  9. You gotta have a place to put all the starting pitchers for whom the answer is "we'll just use him in long relief."
  10. <six hours later> I'm still thinking.
  11. My one brief moment of glory at the SABR Trivia Team Finals a couple of years ago was correctly identifying Buck solely by his eyebrows.
  12. Hah! Took a few hours, but now it's the #1 hit on Google if you search on Fluorescent giraffe door knockers
  13. Welp, Mrs Ash is giving the stink-eye about some unfinished chores, and I can't in good conscience say "but the game isn't over". Catch you all later.
  14. I wondered who would go there, but didn't have time to set up a betting pool and put my money on you.
  15. Fluorescent giraffe door knockers also may come in handy at times. / quickly checking google for results...
  16. For two dollars more, we can have a doubleheader.
  17. Player: But we don't have a farm club in Charlotte. Manager: ...
  18. Good thing. The moderators seem to have taken a holiday.
  19. http://www.nndb.com/people/419/000022353/42-3870-sm.jpg Hey-yo!
  20. Carnac: "2 bucks in labor" Ed: That sounds like a bargain. I just took my Mercedes in for a tune-up and.... Carnac: Really? That's the best you can come up with? Ed: Forgive me for any lack of eloquence. Evidently I am once again overwhelmed by your radiance. Carnac: A flashlight with worn out AA batteries would also do the trick. Ed: You do yourself a disservice, your Magnific--- hey, waitaminnit! Carnac: You're quick. Ed: May a bad person come and do a bad thing to you. Carnac: Leave the mythic curses to me, for your own good. Ed: Would you be so kind, then, as to open the envelope? Carnac: What happens soon after, to a couple of male deer after their sex-change operations?
  21. Because it costs them significantly more than $2 in labor.
  22. Speaking of teardowns... how 'bout that Nolasco today?
  23. Wait, really? If you're not going to make an offer, can you point me to the realtor for that one? I thought those were all gone. Maybe it's a teardown. Have to check it out.
