  1. Welp, it's past this east-coast Twins fan's bedtime. Bring the win home for us, OK?
  2. Oh, sure, you glass-is-half-full guys and your half-full glasses.
  3. Could Zuke have scored from first on a triple?
  4. Our teammate picked #55. That was the Control Data character code (non-ASCII) for "blank". You had to be there, I guess.
  5. And if it comes back to you, it was yours all along?
  6. We have too many #9 hitters, for that.
  7. I chose #32, Koufax's number, when I played slow-pitch softball. I wasn't a pitcher, but I still anticipated many no-hit games for myself.
  8. Shares of stock, at THEIR option. Gotta read the fine print.
  9. Indeed. It's not our fault that all those clowns put the TC metro area so far away from everything. I literally moved across the continent to the Boston area and they *still* are way out of town.
  10. I meant that our grandkids will turn out good, and then things will go forward.
  11. "To reform a man you must start with his grandmother." So on this topic I'm hopeful for my great-grandchildren, based on how I married.
  12. A good pun is its own reword.
  13. Yeah, that math degree I earned in collitch really paid off, didn't it?
  14. I'll go with 45 innings and 1108 earned runs given up. In other words, just a typical season for Samuel Deduno. / Edit - argh, you didn't wait long enough for me to compute PLUS throw in a witty witty side-comment
  15. They were giving him AB's with the big club near the end of spring training. They don't hand those out to just everyone.
  16. TD posters who never much liked the Denard Span trade? As for the 221.60 ERA, that's what happens when you give up two home runs and then the box score doesn't have room for your 4-digit 21.60 ERA. Suitable punishment, I think.
  17. And how about that Calvin Griffith fellow? I mean, how does he even still have a job with this team? He needed to be let go from his job years ago. Him and Cookie Lavagetto together, I mean, of course.
  18. Per Seth's daily minor league recap of Elizabethton's first game: "Tyler Kuresa went 1-2 with three walks; the one hit was a home run, his first since the first week of the Cedar Rapids season." I don't plan to give a game by game update. But hey, we're supposed to brag now and then about our adoptees, right?
  19. Hispanic kid in the 1st grade class I helped out this year had that name. I didn't inquire.
  20. Life ain't easy for a boy named Michelle.
  21. Haven't seen much mention of Elizabethton and the buildup to their season, but (as mentioned above) they start their games tonight. I note that one of my Adopt A Prospects, Tyler Kuresa, was demoted from Cedar Rapids at the end of May, and will be on the E-Twins' roster, as the only player listed at 1B, so I presume he'll get plenty of opportunity to straighten his game back out. You can see the entire roster at http://www.milb.com/roster/index.jsp?sid=t576
  22. What, that "history is a pack of lies about events that never happened told by people who weren't there"? / I keed, I know you mean the "condemned to repeat it" one.
  23. I dunno. He displays a disturbing trend, dating back to the start of his career, of growing older every single day of the season.
  24. Regrettably small sample size, as yet.
