  1. Last year, I already thought he had a pretty good eye at the plate and it has only gotten better. Now he also manages contact on a regular basis and gets hits. He could become a pretty good asset for the Twins. And yes, I also think he could start for some other teams. We have been spoiled with Buck but most centerfielders aren't exactly great hitters. And right on cue, a great catch in the field!
  2. Good! He had three fielding opportunities in the first game, I think. Two where he had to charge the ball and one where he had to go pretty far to his left. Made them all look routine. Also turned a nice 4-6-3 double play in the second game. I wouldn't say he had to make an exceedingly difficult play yet but whenever he had the opportunity to make a play, he did so flawlessly.
  3. Man, I couldn't even stomach watching the end of it. Glad it worked out! Pagan is stressful and I hate to watch him. If you get hit, you get hit but make them beat you instead of walking a few and losing on a bloop single. Luckily, the latter part didn't happen today and thus, a fun game. Miranda get's his first homer, Lewis his first hit, Winder is a stud and the future (which is also the present!) looks great! Switching over to the Wild now. They just scored. 3-0. Are we allowed to have a fun night as MN sports fans?
  4. How many fly balls died on the warning track tonight? So frustrating.
  5. Hard to believe the same goalie got a shutout in game 1. Nice job, Kirill.
  6. Yikes, Polo is having a brutal day in the field.
  7. Poor Celestino. That was a robbery. He is another player that looks much improved, though.
  8. Man, Winder looks even better than I had dared to hope. And I had really high hopes for him. Before the season, I thought Winder was the pitching prospect with the fewest question marks, someone who was basically ready to be plugged into the rotation. Love to see what he is doing now.
  9. Kep not looking great at the plate tonight.
  10. It's unbelievable how much better he looks. Just taking great ABs and pouncing on pitcher's mistakes. Looks like a real asset to the Twins now.
  11. As good as that splinker is, it's also hittable when left in the middle of the zone. He has done that a few times, not only today. And that's also where most of the damage against him has come.
  12. Ouch. Painful night for Carlos. Hope he is okay. ?
  13. Crazy that the Orioles pitcher even threw him a fastball there. Right over the plate too. Maybe would have been smarter to just walk him. But I won't complain.
  14. Is it just me or have the Twins made a ton of outs at home this season? Aggressiveness is one thing but you still have to be right the majority of the time. Doesn't feel like this is the case. Hope it doesn't come back to bite them.
  15. There is some luck for us! Now let's capitalize!
  16. Ugh. Orioles getting lots of soft hits and bloopers this series and our hard hit balls are all finding gloves. .960 xBA! Unbelievable.
  17. Nice job by Arch to pitch around that double. Now let's get some runs!
  18. Any lineup with Buxton in it is better than one without him.
  19. I originally predicted 84 wins, now I would say around 90. The lineup should be good, maybe not great but it's enough for the Twins to win most games. I'm not worried about some slow starts there. Especially now with C4 heating up. The pitching has been much better than I expected, hence the new 90-win prediction. I have no confidence in Bundy at all, that hasn't changed, but I'm now much more confident that Ryan, Ober, Gray, Winder, Paddack and Archer can all pitch at least solid seasons. In a terrible division that should enable the Twins to win a few games. Like others have pointed out, the stamina of a rotation with so many young pitchers worries me a bit. But hopefully in the latter half of the season the Twins will have more reinforcements from the minors ready. In this regard, April was the riskiest month and it went well. So, 90+ wins? Let's go!
  20. There is also this: Cheap signings and reclamation projects like Bundy have a high failure rate. If you're not willing to give up on those players as soon as it becomes apparent that it doesn't work out, you shouldn't make this type of signing in the first place. At least not if you want to win. But who knows, maybe the Twins have learned from last year and are taking Bundy out of the rotation. Losing today is unfortunate, but it's baseball, you're gonna lose some games. (And maybe they come back?) The Twins just need to learn from their losses. Have fun here, I will switch over to the Wild game now. Hopefully that goes better!
  21. Exactly. Paid. Past tense. Continuing to start Bundy won't bring that $5M back. It will just make it more likely that they wasted another $35.1M. Unfortunately, I share your fear that the Twins will think that way but I really wish they would not make decisions based on what they already paid but rather based on what's the current best path for the team.
  22. This is starting to feel like one of those 2021 games where misplays and horrible luck and bad managerial decisions all come together to sink the Twins. Let's hope they can rally again! After Gray is back I want Bundy out of the rotation. Really. I sort of understand how Rocco wanted to save the pen and squeeze more out of Bundy (though I disagreed) but Bundy has now screwed up twice in a row and he doesn't have the track record that would earn him the benefit of doubt. One of the biggest mistake last year was trotting out Happ and Shoemaker every fifth day until it was too late. Unlike last year, we have better options now. Don't make the same mistake twice.
  23. Our defense really not looking good in this Orioles series.
