  1. Learn to love the losing.
  2. I'd like to think if I were on the verge of buying a team, enough that the sellers are talking to me, I'd probably have spoken with a few GM candidates to get their take on what I should buy. The pre-deadline "on the cusp" roster, or a "clear the decks" roster. It's feasible to think a GM candidate said he or she would rather build their own core than try to work with someone else's regardless, and a buyer went with that. Or the above is all wishful thinking and Falvey doesn't know what the hell he's doing, which is equally plausible.
  3. I bumped an old thread to have this conversation out. I sort of agree.
  4. I had this thought exactly. haha.
  5. They're just talking practically. This team is tearing it down. Finally.
  6. The ballpark is going to be a ghost town for the rest of the season. As brutal as that is, it's better than false hope.
  7. Bumping a thread here that hopefully stays focused on ownership's sale efforts. Does a full out trade deadline sale improve the marketability of the team or hurt it? Payroll is a liability, but players are assets. Obviously better for discussion after we see the final results of deadline day in a couple hours.
  8. Spot on commentary here. The idea they run this like a business implies that they are doing so well. They definitely aren't.
  9. Good question. The hitting regime changed this year, so it's hard to speak to, but it would be similar to poll how many hitters have improved when they went to other orgs.
  10. How many Zebby and Festa types is Ryan worth? Serious question, not sarcasm.
  11. Until he becomes Gomez that gets coached by a different organization to change his approach at the plate and has an MVP year.
  12. Revenue could be higher with better management. Lowering concession prices could very well be a strategy to increase overall revenue. An owner that engages the fans would increase revenue.
  13. It's almost as if you could say this entire organization really appears to have no plan.
  14. 2023-2032 Free Agent. Carlos Correa signed a 6 year, $200,000,000 contract with the Minnesota Twins, including $200,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $33,333,333. In 2025, Correa will earn a base salary of $36,000,000, while carrying a total salary of $37,333,333. Not gonna happen unless they eat the contract, which they definitely will not do.
  15. This **** is so stupid. At this point who else is there? He’ll get the team nod no matter what.
  16. All Star selection day is my favorite day because we are finally done with these ridiculous pleas that mean nothing other than clicks on MLB.com.
  17. I'll be as negative as anyone, but trade him for what? Someone with an equally unstable track record? Why trade a low value asset? Just accept what you have, but I don't know why you trade him for at best a middle reliever. Run it into the ground, but give up building around him.
  18. As a STH since the beginning, it's so true the Twins haven't felt relevant nationally since 2010. I wish this was a home game just for the atmosphere of Sunday Night Baseball.
  19. It's a good thing no one else in the league can see how unpredictable he's been prior to this one game.
  20. Based on their record since this morning, they are now on track to lose every game for the rest of the season.
  21. So I guess it's time to look ahead to Vikings training camp! It was fun while it lasted.
  22. The two guys that are made of glass just can't resist finding each other.
  23. I think I've said this elsewhere, but considering the umpires could have a buzzer installed in their back pocket that could almost immediately call the strike for them, it seems like a no brainer to avoid the need to overturn calls, but let the umpire remain at home plate and part of the game.
  24. Gleeman trolling the owners with facts is quite enjoyable.
