  1. Yes, it's Gardy's world and we all have to live in it.
  2. Oh I agree, in the present situation, I'm not knocking Carroll but more should have been done to avoid the possibility of a 39 year old having to be an everyday player at SS. Leaving it at Florimon and Escobar is pretty much allowing it to happen.
  3. I agree with that and the very fact there is an odds on chance of that actually happening is a mark against TR this off-season.
  4. Contemplating using Duensing as a starter again isn't a very good counter arguement against that assertion however.
  5. Carroll is looking like a one man bomb squad.
  6. 150 PA's, sprinkled in every 3 or 4 games over half a season, is extended major league competition? Leave Benson in Rochester (assuming he's not the starting CF out of ST) and if he's playing well, bring him up after Morneau is traded and Parmelee moves to 1st base so he can play full time in RF. Having Thome as a bench bat shouldn't be seen as blocking anyone......except Butera.
  7. If Gardy ever had the jam to punt Butera in favour of Escobar then I think I'd be ok with Thome being a bench bat, why not? I don't get the Colobello thing, nice story and everything but seriously, he's going to become a reliable, part time bench bat without ever seeing major league pitching before? He is 29, it's not like they'd be missing out on anything. Benson is intriguing but if he doesn't get the starting CF job over Hicks, I think he's better off in Rochester getting reps than being a fourth OF/ bench bat, for development purposes or if they ultimately decide to move him for some pitching.
  8. Well, getting back on track, I'm with Seth, is this really news of any kind? While I have hopes either of them become serviceable (especially Harden), I really have no expectations of seeing them anytime soon, does anyone? I don't think the Twins seriously do.
  9. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/mad/1106.gif............................is this article hampering their recovery?
  10. Duensing starting shouldn't be one of the proposals, by anyone.
  11. Ticket to a Twins game $5.00, Beer at the game, $7.00, watching Kevin Correia pitch another 3 innings of 10 hit ball.........priceless.
  12. Well, not exactly MENSA stuff, but he's totally right. No chance they leave him as a starter if the plan is to keep him in one place, at least there better not be.
  13. We've officially jumped the shark.
  14. NO!!!! REALLY? THAT HAPPENS IN AMERICA!!?? http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/hand-gestures/crossing-oneself-christian-smiley-emoticon.gif
  15. Ok, almost everyone here votes no because he's bound to get injured. Let's say, as John assumes he manages to stay healthy by playing catcher less (which I believe to be true), is he productive given that assumption? I say he puts up at least equal numbers to last year, perhaps even a little higher SLG% resulting in a higher OPS.
  16. This says it all, if this is something to worry about, you're all going to have ulcers by mid- March.
  17. Mauer, if we're including everyone. Sano, if we're talking about future players and in my mind he is the clear cut choice, #9 prospect in all of baseball and shown his explosiveness at every level so far, at a very young age. Despite all the great things about Hicks and Arcia, Sano's ceiling right now is through the roof by comparison.
  18. Hey, once you guys are sold out on certain sizes, do you ever decide to do another run?
  19. Heh, heh....ooops. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/embarrassed/shy-whistler.gifOk, Ok, that's one.
  20. Exactly, I'm sure the Tigers are encouraging Miggy to change his approach, to mitigate all those DP's and hopefully pop out more often.
  21. I don't know but you seem to be having a hard time with it.
