  1. This is a bit of needless fear mongering, while there may be an outlying instance of this happening, it's exceedingly rare. In any case, if that's a concern just buy them on StubHub, they'll be cheap there as well and god knows once you're in you'll be able to sit pretty much wherever you want.
  2. There's this but there is also this I'm not really sure where you stand and I still don't get the blocking issue, blocking who?
  3. What bad contracts are you speaking of and who on God's green earth would they be blocking?
  4. I'm sorry but that viewpoint is laughable considering the overwhelming difference of opinion on this site alone.
  5. Ok, I'll agree the performance on the field the last 2 years plays a role in the decrease, but thinking the Twins doing pretty much nil to address that in the interim, despite said pathetic performance, is beyond absurd.
  6. No, sucking the past two years, not much young, MLB ready talent, razor thin SP and doing absolutely NOTHING to address it, despite ample funds and opportunity, from a paying customers perspective, is what keeps people away.
  7. You're right, it was a good decision not to do anything the fans might want to buy tickets to see. I guess if the Twins are content to just wait for the future, I'll wait until then as well.

  9. Having your old role taken away from you, accepting a lesser role and staying with the team while being positive and supportive about it isn't an indication of his attitude? Good lord, it's odd what you find interesting.
  10. Good lord, get a sense of humour. We're talking about baseball, since when did that equate to growing up?
  11. Wake me up on lap 74...............or if someone decides to turn right.
  12. But your actions and focus, on and off the field, are going to determine my future, one way or the other." Fixed it.
  13. I for one haven't but it's more than just half a season to me. I believed he was rushed up here in desperation, in reality his numbers in AAA at the time of his call- up were nothing special and if we had some kind of half-assed performance from 1/2 of the MI he wouldn't have been up, which would have been fine. I very much want Dozier to succeed, he is the only thing that resembles pop from among anyone in the MI, although I'd settle for him just getting on base at regular clip and making the plays he should in the field. Dozier representing our only real hope just isn't based on a whole lot of evidence, that's all.
  14. I am a big fan of Hendricks and I think people underestimate his pitch mix and completely forget his age. I believe he's going to have a breakout year and be a nice surprise.
  15. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/confused/confused-smiley-emoticon.gifWhen did MedHelp hijack Twins Daily?
  16. This article makes me want to cry......http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/sad/goodbye-tears-smiley-emoticon.jpg
  17. And if my last name rhymed with Buterrible, Hermann showing up early should make me feel like dog poo, but it doesn't and that's a problem.
  18. Great info here, the fresh Walleye and Summit news is awesome but the giant alcoholic milkshakes are frightening me. The tobacco ban is overdue. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/party/chugger-smiley-emoticon.gif
  19. Welcome to the big market. http://www.forumsextreme.com/images2/sHa_lol3.gif
  20. Nobody was seriously thinking we would be going to go after the top free agent pitchers, just some of the mid tier guys that would have been a vast improvement over the staff last year. When most of these guys signed for 1 and 2 year deals (one of them our own), how is that a big waste of money? It's one thing to revamp your pitching staff, it's quite another to improve it. As far as this year is concerned I don't feel they have done that and if it does it hinges on the fragile health of Harden, the unknown durabilty of Worley and the performance of Pelfrey, I won't even mention Correia. Sorry if that doesn't fill most people with confidence. Yes, there were fewer question marks two years ago and the Twins lost 99 games, most of those question marks still remain, especially in the pitching department. What exactly have the Twins done to answer those questions with increased competition? Guys like Correia, Pelfrey and Harden count as competition just because they represent something different and have a pulse? You're absolutely right in stating that a number of players should not be too comfortable, specifically the MI and realistically 3rd base, but what have the Twins done to prevent that? NOTHING, no competition to try to improve what we already had. The talent is coming in the minors, in places, not all of it that soon and we're talking about 2013 anyway. I'll go along with the naive part, you're right on that one. ........My brother.
  21. I was cautious not to say they didn't care,I saw how that turned out. Apparently it's a very fine line.
  22. "Basically, check back in 2015." This is basically the gist of the entire off-season, and it didn't have to be that way. Outfield is a huge question mark, MI is completely unproven, 3rd base is a work in progress but wishful at best, we all know about the pitching, the leadoff and bottom 3rd of the order is a big prayer and the we get to the bench. He definitely has a shallow understanding of the organization as a whole and knows very little about the ceiling on the prospects we expect to see this year. The rest is just a matter of reality bites, you can hope he's wrong about most of it but that's about it.
  23. Yeah, that would have went a long way in being happier, at the very least it would have indicated they were willing to TRY.
  24. Here's the link, haven't had time to review it. Unfortunately it's sorted by the day the player went on the DL, so it's a clusterf**k to go through, could try to export it and re-sort it. Baker and Pavano are both on there though. Fister and Smyly had numerous trips to the 15-day. 2012 DL Information
  25. Interestingly the Tigers lost more man games to the DL than the Twins and the White Sox, especially in pitching. I agree with you however that in the big picture they were the 5th healthiest team in the AL last year and still only managed 88 wins with that lineup. They are improved this year but odds are they won't escape as unscathed. Granted this data also doesn't account for who was actually injured, which is noteworthy. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/2012_days.jpg
