  1. Feeling better after two days of kicking things and muttering. Was at the Avs game today, they played extremely well, even Stuart. Would have been a crime if they lost that game. Scheifele impresses me more all the time, except for the puck in the net part, some bad luck though. Thought Perreault showed today and the Lowery, Byfuglien, Thorburn line was dominant. Needed that one....well,as much as you need any game this early.
  2. Yep, he wasn't alone and doesn't play defense or on the offensive line. Look, the Gopher offense was ridiculously out of sync in the first half and Leidner contributed his share of that, nothing more.
  3. Strongly agree, Leidner did not play particularly well but he was far from the reason the Gophers lost that game.
  4. Gunning for the first win streak of the season, Bolts won the other night in Calgary so road odds favour the Jets, feeling good.....for now.
  5. I liked Burton, he did a serviceable job for the Twins in very tough circumstances.Having said that, I'm excited for the Twins to move on and find some fresh blood.
  6. yep, that about sums it up. Need to get heads out of ass soon.
  7. Yeah, pretty sure that's the interpretation.
  8. Yeah, what a crazy stat, definitely nice to end it.
  9. Definitely a sloppy game, hopefully a lesson to be learned in their progression. They still ran the ball effectively but uncharacteristically gave up the big play, not once but twice in today's game. I don't see that continuing, they've been very good at that all year. I think Kill gets them back to taking care of the details.
  10. That's two weeks in a row the Gophers win a game they would have typically lost. Kill has these guys believing in themselves and the resiliency gives them a valuable added dimension. First place in the West and bowl eligible, as Chief points out. And yes, Purdue is a much better team than people think, they held a good Notre Dame team close for 3 quarters before trailing off. Go Gophers!
  11. What is his vision? How do you know this? Why is he flailing? Because he passed on Terry and Buck two years ago? Really?
  12. Well that sucked...cant pin that one on Pav. Christ, Scheifele needs to learn how to finish.
  13. Hockey 101, hitting the net is a prerequisite for scoring goals....just sayin Winnipeg.
  14. Interviewing as many people as you can for your top, on field leadership position, you don't say? I would expect any properly run business to take the same approach, you have to find out what's out there from a wide pool. Either that or they're just determined to hire some guy with the name Hale.
  15. Why does every thread with RB involve him taking off his pants?
  16. I don't quite get what you're saying here, what do you mean by the same game? How can the same game take an hour longer than the other? The Royals-O's game on Saturday had 22 hits and 10 runs but was tied at 4 going into the top of the 9th. I wouldn't find that any less intense had the same game featured 5 hits and been 1-1 going to the ninth just because it would take less time.
  17. Playoffs Not playoffs I ask you, where is the emotion?
  18. I think it's pretty much between what you and Levi stated, during the regular season there is always tomorrow and playoff intensity is just too difficult to sustain for that period of time. The motivation to not have your season end once your in the playoffs is pretty strong. I also don't think it's only baseball that suffers from it, any sport with a long schedule has the same issue. The NFL avoids it a bit by only having 16 games, with each one having significant playoff implications. I can't imagine NHL players playing the whole season like the playoffs, they'd be dead.
  19. But playoff tix are more money, so is it relative?
  20. Damn, I thought this was going to be another payroll thread.....
  21. Are you on the Twins PR team? You should be, you would fit right in The prospect of this made me lose my appetite for breakfast.
  22. Get off of my lawn!!!
  23. Yeah...Ummm, no, no it's not.
  24. One in the hand is worth two in the bush, as old people are fond of saying....
  25. Big fan of Lucid beers and also someone else mentioned Saga being a good one as well, agree . You should like Futons's taproom Mike, they have a great outdoor patio when the weather is warmer. I guess if the Twins were more interesting to watch there's a better chance you'd get there. Such a drag that none of the Twins Cities microbrews ship up North here. We have plenty of great ones but I'm pretty fond of most of the one's down there from my many visits, Maybe that's what keeps them fresh for me on the other hand,. Shout out to Grain Belt as well, one of my favourite chaser beers.
