    He has a subtle snark about him, possibly can come across with some as a bit uppity maybe. That’s my take, it’s also part of what I like about him and also what I think a person like him can adjust if they were a moderator.

    I'm not. I don't expect potential moderators to be perfect. I like him because he strikes me as more of a big picture type, he's not extreme in his views. I also think people develop as moderators when it comes to posting. None of us were angels prior to being moderators, I certainly wasn't. I think the more you understand what the overall message is, you tend to adjust in order to help accomplish that. I don't think posters on the fringes are able to do that particularly well, they lurch towards whichever end they already lean to. I think being reasonable and somewhat balanced are the key traits. He also strikes me as reasonably intelligent.

    Most people understand the bolded part but the extremes are more popular around here. It's more fun to mock viewpoints than to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. I get the way it rolls. I tip my cap to the Indians, they've been flat out fantastic, soft schedule or not.

    I'm never really fine being in 2nd place, but I wouldn't have expected much more. Really, who would have? I'm fine right now havng a chance.

    Of course they will, it's not that I don't want to talk about it, or allow others to. It was meant in jest, that I look forward to the discussion which will see saw back and forth depending on whether the Twins are in first or second. I find the absolutes amusing, it's all I'm really referring to . If I didn't appreciate team and player analysis on an on going sample size,I wouldn't be here.

    How is that dismissing what's been happening for the last 2 1/2 months? I'm the one that said it, I stand by it. Recognizing the pace the Indians have been on in the same time period is not dismissing the Twins play. But never mind, that would actually be reasoned discussion. Like I said, easier to grab the torches.

    I meant with it being over the 2nd place team. I’d say it’s even more historic to blow that lead while playing over .500 since that lead was established. Although if they win tonight, that lead is no longer “blown” , is it? I look forward to the 6 weeks see saw of “blown”, “not blown” posts.

    Who said it isn't a big deal? Your post wasn't as historically significant as you thought, that's all anyone pointed out. Just because some aren't looking to define the historical significance of losing the division more than 6 weeks before the season ends, doesn't mean they don't think dropping an 11 1/2 game lead isn't a big deal. It would be a way bigger deal if the season ended today, that's all.

    Sure, but it's hardly historic to blow and 11 1/2 game lead. Unless its historic semantics.

    Yeah, because that's what people are saying. It's disingenuous comments like this that just create a lot of nonsense on this board. Anyone with half a brain understands that the Twins play over the last 2 months has played a part in them dropping to 2nd place. Apparently it takes the other half to consider that the Indians playing at an over .700 clip in the same span is also very significant. But hey, no middle ground, pick a side and grab the pitch fork.

    Well playing better is always the solution to anything, it’s the only thing you can control. I doubt the Twins mindset is that they back in due to the schedule, that’s a Twins Daily meme. Cleveland is league best for over a 2 month span by a good margin. have to hand it to them. 20 of 23 against the Tigers, Sox and Royals is taking care of business.

    Maybe, I think that’s overblown a bit. They were on an absolute tear before making any changes. They addressed some deficiencies, no doubt. Really hope the Twins can get healthy for the stretch run and have their best lineup out there more often than not.
