  1. Welcome cmoss, hope to hear from you more. Our Head Moderator is from California.............we don't hold it against him either.
  2. I think it's laid out pretty well, again it's difficult for us as a moderating team to be able to catch everything, so we rely on the community to report these kind of behaviours as well. I encourage you to do that in these circumstances. Certainly if we feel the post is meant to demean an individual we will take action.
  3. I would never have guessed............
  4. I'm going to miss old horse face.......except the pitching part. Can't wait until we play the Tigers!
  5. Yes, your point about posting slowing up clearly meant something else........ I'm not surprised by disagreement on some moderator action, but I think you doth protest too much.
  6. GIve it a rest Dave, first off Diehard didn't say you reported a post, he said there were posts reported, so you outed yourself and no confidentiality was breached, he didn't name a single name in fact. Your first sentence is just ethical grandstanding, very noble. I think you're overreacting, the group felt this was just another tired thread about the same tired topic that was ultimately going to go in the same tired direction. Protests about not allowing sarcasm from time to time are ridiculous, there is plenty of leeway given in that regard. And you have no idea on site traffic, that's merely a shot and you know it.
  7. Moderator notes are used to keep discussion on topic and to prevent threadjacking and bickering, which ruin threads. If you feel that kills threads then I think you need a new perspective, we allow plenty of leeway, if you don't believe that I suggest you read most of the threads up at the moment. In response to your rhetorical question, I would rather have a really good original post not turn to trash with the same boring rhetoric most people around here are tired of.
  8. Butter tarts, with raisins, no nuts. Cherry tarts, with that canned cherry pie filling stuff! Nanaimo bar Good Shortbread cookies Christmas Bread Pudding Anything Gingerbread The list will be too long, I'll stop.
  9. Yeah agreed, much more substance than trying to make a political statement with self serving, inflammatory headlines.
  10. Mmmmm, Pakora is my favourite fritter, followed closely by Samosa.
  11. Seemed to work for Dozier, I remember the analysis you did on him a couple of years back and his success at the plate seemed to really accelerate based on those changes. Agree it shouldn't be cookie cutter though and glad the Twins seemed to have shifted from that mindset.
  12. Can you be a little more clear?
  13. National French Fried Clams Day!!! I love clams! The clam po boy is the underrated cheaper cousin to the more renowned oyster po boy, but no less tasty. It's time like this I hate living in a land locked, frozen prairie burg! Curses!! Isn't National Egg Nog Month just a front for drink dark rum all month month?
  14. I love that picture, by strange coincidence the grocery store I was at today was auctioning off a large framed print of it. I think I should go make a bid, someone is trying to tell me something.
  15. This whole Black Friday/Cyber Monday thing is getting ridiculous, it's turning into the whole Boxing Day phenomenon from about 25 years ago. Boxing Day used to be one day and then it morphed into a week and now an entire month, Black Friday is next. Christmas will just ultimately be engulfed by retail madness on both sides eventually, if it hasn't already. On another note, I like chocolate mousse and moose sausage........not at the same time.
  16. Yeah, I think this is what it ultimately boils down to. Claeys seems to want to run a more dynamic offense than Kill ever did and wants someone who will develop personnel and a game plan to do so. Also, with the lack of development shown with Leidner, it's hardly surprising he wanted to part with Zebrowksi and run the risk of the same results with Croft.
  17. Welcome to Cedar Rapids.
  18. Ok wait, weren't we talking about anchovies a couple of weeks ago? This is starting to remind me of Terry Ryan threads..
  19. We missed it? Don't tell me we also missed National Popcorn Day? Oh the humanity!!
  20. How does one like Pickled Herring and not Sardines? Seems to me they would have similar placement on the disgusting scale.
  21. Sardine day?! What a waste of a day! My Dad used to eat sardine sandwiches, doused with vinegar. I love him and all but he's a nutty dude.
  22. It's not, live life to the fullest.
  23. Well, you guys seem more the cycling types if you've done that before. I think the "cycling" on the tours my sister did was a fairly dubious operative word.
