  1. Falvey has been uber conservative when it comes to trading his boys. So I'm guessing zero names from this list are moved in deals. I'm actually worried that the Twins could be talked into trading Luke Keaschall for nothing. I would trade three to four from this list for the right return.
  2. Like I said, if money is not an issue for the Twins Paddack might be ok in the bullpen. Keeping a player because you bet on them is losing baseball. The Twins bet on Randy Dobnak too. It is scary to think that if Dobnak had a $7.5 miilion contract he might also be discussed for the starting rotation.
  3. Lee is not close to Miller in value. Brooks Lee might draw some interest from Milwaukee. Maybe Lee for Jeferson Quero is reasonable. Seattle would want Royce Lewis (and maybe Willi Castro or Jose Miranda) for Bryce Miller. Even then, Seattle might not trade Miller. Twins Daily and Falvey would likely not do that trade either. I would.
  4. Considering how careful we are told the Twins are regarding money, it would be shocking if they chose a player.
  5. The Twins need to reduce their payroll or such is the general talk and understanding. If the Twins can live with their roughly $140 million current roster, there isn't any reason to move Paddack quickly. Yes, it is good to have pitching. The other argument is that Falvey's weird infatuation with Paddack may mean the Twins slot him as a starting pitcher above Woods Richardson and Festa. Paddack fits as depth behind Matthews and should be a bullpen arm if kept on the team. There is a strong chance he cost the team if used above either of DF or SWR. Paddack is out of options and takes a roster spot if he is retained. The real question for the Twins is whether Paddack is one of the best 13 pitchers in their system. There are a host of teams that are struggling to fill out their pitching staffs and thus it shouldn't be difficult to move Paddack in a deal. The return is unlikely to be anything useful for the coming year but a flyer on a prospect in the 15-30s range from a team is possible. If the budget is real, Paddack has to go. It is really pretty simple.
  6. Did the Twins group already go home? Uninterested or just shunned by other teams? Was there a statement issued?
  7. Could be, could be true. This is a make or break career season for F & S in MLB. Don't worry about them though, corporate consultant markets are booming. The Minnesota Twins and some of us will still be around though even if 2025 crashes, and on into the future too.
  8. The Twins have 3 more years of control over Lopez, Stewart, Ober, Jax, Ryan, Duran, and Larnach. All of these guys are good but none are superstars. Until the team is in a stable position it seems likely that the Twins will roll year to year with their current guys.
  9. The A's are going to get blacked out of revenue sharing unless they reach a mark in payroll. Expect to see some moves. Paddack should help the A's. If the payroll wasn't a situation for Minnesota, Paddack would be great in the bullpen. Sure, talk with the A's.
  10. Correa at shortstop automatically saves a first baseman because all of C$'s throws are so perfect. However, the other 3 infielders are challenging and you remember that Santana was good. Unless the Twins upgrade their defense I don't believe they can have a real weak glove at first base too. It's a tough situation to judge. Moving Correa would be draining for Twins fans unless there were also several other moves that created some hope. Hard to lose your best player but if reality crashes for us fans, please allow fate to bring some change for the better to the roster. I'm thinking crazy number of moves, like 5-6 in total.
  11. If the Twins trade any of Lopez, Ryan, Ober, or Woods Richardson we should expect Jax to get his shot in the rotation.
  12. The Red Sox attempted to sign Soto, but the Mets won that bidding contest. Now the Yankees won the Max Fried auction. Boston needs both a right-handed bat and starting pitching. Things could get interesting. I wonder if Falvey & Sons left to go home after the poor results from the draft order drawing?
  13. No. Casas is a DH. He burned his glove because it was totally broken.
  14. I think we also had a shot at signing Juan what's his name.
  15. Bad start to the Winter Meetings, the Twins pick #16. Ahhhchhhkkkkk. Bad juju. Carl's to blame.
  16. That was a strange pick and pretty much everyone was perplexed.
  17. I definitely do NOT want to trade Carlos Correa. If Boston wants him, he costs either Teel or Campbell. Boston won't send more. Correa is expensive.
  18. Lawler is no sure thing but Arizona is in a window, has depth, and I wonder if something along the lines of Duran (closer), Julien (LH DH), and K. Culpepper (if prospect) might be tempting. I would add Willi Castro too. However, it sure doesn't seem likely.
  19. Count me as one who is not interested in O'Neill (signed already), Profar, Grichuk, Santana, or other hopefuls. I do think Emmanuel Rodriguez would look good in the outfield and I am interested in a Lee for Quero idea as well as an attempt to add Lawler. I don't expect much but at the risk of being incredible annoying will suggest that there are deals to be made.
  20. Well, if Boston wants one of Ryan or Ober, the trade could be expanded/shifted to bring Jarren Duran, Ryan Jeffers, or others into the conversation. The idea is to be proactive, at least somehow in some way.
  21. My interest in and past mentions of any possible acquisition of Jordan Lawler is entirely separate from Correa or potential deals with Boston. I'm thinking that Arizona might trade Lawler, a very highly regarded prospect with minimal MLB experience who is coming off of an injured year which makes him a gamble, for Jhoan Duran and Edouard Julien. Arizona wants a LH DH and a relief pitcher. I guess I just believe that there are options to trade. Boston, Milwaukee, Miami, Seattle, and so forth.
  22. Hey, don't shoot. I have been agitating for the Twins to make numerous changes to their roster in an attempt to improve for a couple of months. I do think one must at least acknowledge that there are differing viewpoints and that the end result of this offseason will not be known until next season is complete. I'm not at all content with the current roster. I do understand that moves will be a challenge.
  23. The point of standing pat is where there is disagreement among folks on Twins Daily. Disagreement is actually not a bad thing and the answer doesn't come until next October in any event. I'm not a fan of standing pat but the current roster is competitive in the sense that another 82 win season is certainly reasonable. Of course, everything could fall in line perfectly for an 88-90 win season as well. I don't believe the Twins are a 90-100 loses team though. I guess the frustration for some (me) is the lack of proactive movement. The job of F & S is to find the transactions to improve the team. If they cannot do their jobs, the team needs new people in those positions. Then again (circular) there is the idea that the roster is just fine for 2025. So it goes.
  24. Or maybe you might think about just not opening the browser or reading the articles; it is an option. There are plenty of other sites to visit on the internet to avoid raising your ire. Be happy. Have a good day.
  25. Yes, Jose Iglesias would be a good addition for the Twins. Better sign him soon before the prices rise. Brooks Lee would be just ok, which is not that ok. He fits better at 2B/3B or used in a trade to improve the roster.
