  1. I like Berrios and Rogers to the Dodgers for Gray and May. We take the TJS risk on May, and they have to wait a couple weeks for Rogers to heal his finger. They get reliable pitching, we get two young studs, one off of TJS. I would also ask for a lottery ticket A level prospect, but those are the essential ingredients for the deal.
  2. *Sigh*. Like I said after the PREVIOUS start, why are we trotting Happ out there to get murdered pitching batting practice? What purpose does it serve, other than outfield cutoff practice? How does this help us be better in 2022?
  3. Correction: Listening to Latroy make excuses for Colome takes the cake.
  4. What is worse: watching Colome blow ANOTHER game, or watching Grossman deliver the dinger....I like Robbie, so I vote the former.
  5. Dan Hayes just posted an article in The Athletic which includes a quote from Buxton today: Paraphrasing, he says he wants to stay here, his representatives are working on the deal, and the guaranteed money is fine! The hangup is the structure and amounts of the incentives. To me, that sounds like it can be worked out. Fingers crossed.
  6. I kinda like Sano being aggressive, but it seems like he vastly over-estimates his speed on the base paths. Weird really....
  7. Some thoughts on this most interesting time for Twins Fans: I like Berrios and/or Rogers to the Dodgers. They need both of them, and they have good pitching talent to trade. Any discussion would have to start with Gray, who just made his MLB debut. I like Pineda and/or Simmons to the Mets. They don't want commitments for next year, but need SS help with Lindor's injury and starting pitching from Big Mike. Make them pay, quality over quantity please. Robles and/or Happ should be able to fetch a lottery ticket from someone. Colome, not so much. I would retain Donaldson unless someone gives a great offer, and the same for Buxton. Don't want to trade at low value from Buxton, and STILL want to try and sign him to some type of creative contract this off-season. Simple! :)
  8. Need to wait until off-season to re-assess the situation from both sides. Buxton might get back this year and tear up the league, or he might tear up some other part of his body. If I were GM, I would make one last push for Berrios, and, if no joy, move Berrios now and Buxton over the winter unless you can sign him then.....and if Berrios goes, might as well move Rogers and Duffy, too. And if you can get something for Happ, Simmons, or any other rental, move them too. This is both sad and exciting time for our club.
  9. Why are we giving starts to Happ? Guy is, unfortunately, washed up. I would rather watch the youngsters get smeared than the guys with zero future get blasted....
  10. Nelson, just consider it a 2-3 month vacation. Your home is still here!!!!
  11. Hope they have had discussions with Cruz's agent to bring him back here next year..... Hope one of the minor league experts will give us good info on the two hurlers we picked up. We certainly need help on the mound, but now have a gigantic hole in our offense unless he comes back next year.
  12. Any chance we can revisit that trade with the Mets for Thor? Lovely fielder, developing hitter, may or may not ever pan out....such a shame for the Twins who are having a special season.
