    This is in no way a knock on anything you wrote, but I'm strangely compelled to admit, with The Almighty as my witness, that I initially misread the fourth from last word of that sentence as 'feces'.

    Well, for me at least, that was the most exciting Twins game in quite a while, which means that they've basically been reduced to the sports equivalent of a nature show dung beetle trying to avoid being eaten by a praying mantis.

    Dick was calling the David Wells perfect game and stopped just short of claiming it should be invalidated by MLB due to the abysmally low level of talent in the Twins' lineup. It wouldn't surprise me if Pohlad personally threatened to "release the hounds" on him if he ever disparaged the product on the field that strongly on the air again. So maybe playing up Lopez' ability is just Dick protecting his own professional fanny. Or maybe it's just Bremer being Bremer.

    If the Twins manage to avoid reaching base, this game will almost rival the embarrassment of the Twins' quad-A stiffs getting perfecto'd by inebriated gastropod David Wells in '98.

    Couple more games like this and Falvine will have to cross "Pummel the Royals" off their list of ways to maintain a fig leaf of competitiveness for this team.

    One last vent... Nobody, from first-time posters all the way up through the site's regular staff and founding Rushmore heads, should write a single word about the Twins contending in 2019 unless/until they've watched every single blessed minute of this embarrassment of a game.

    And after this debacle, I'm feeling my ire shift from Belisle to those responsible for him being on the mound. Edit: Thanks, HK, it's a relief to see that I'm not the only one who feels their Twins fandom being threatened by this regime.
