  1. twins probably need to trade at least one of their power 1b/of players before 2021 season starts..... I hope these guys can show their potential in the minors sooner rather than later
  2. I think for everybody, three things should be pretty obvious. 1. George Floyd was murdered. 2. Police brutality is an issue in this country that should be addressed. 3. A few violent looters and rioters are destroying the image and the communities of thousands of peaceful protesters doing the right thing. I don’t understand how people can support violence of any kind, whether to business owners (some who are POC) currently in America, to the police officers tear gassing peaceful protesters, to the violent oppression of women and LGBT people in the Middle East, to the disgusting regimes of China and North Korea. Siding with a certain political party with absolutely everything shows you are a sheep. We all have to figure out our own political viewpoints and have discussions with one another. That isn’t happening in our America nowadays, and I place blame on both sides of the political spectrum. The refusal to have civil discussions by both the moderators/owners and the commenters is just another example of this.
  3. Another omission that I see is The Knoblauch/Gagne decoy in the 8th immediately before that 3-2-3 double play. Lonnie Smith would have easily scored without the confusion.
  4. Out of Santana’s era (peak between 2000 and 2010), there are only two other starting pitchers that will probably make the Hall of Fame: CC and Roy Halladay. Johan Santana is the 3rd best pitcher of that era from accolades. Johan and Joe Mauer are definitely Hall of Famers.
  5. It’s ridiculous that Torii Hunter will probably get a larger percentage of votes this year than Johan did. Hope the Vet’s Committee gives him a long look. What other pitchers from that era will get in otherwise? Santana, Halladay, and Sabathia sounds about right.
  6. It was very strange to me when I learned Bert was the workhorse of a champion team BEFORE he came back to the Twins.
  7. Dobnak and Astudillo are way underrated. But yeah, Kepler is the baseball crush of every baseball fan of the opposite gender that I know.
  8. In Minnesota they could play baseball at US Bank theoretically if the season went that late. That would be an interesting setting.
  9. I think the worry here is that this virus mutates into something worse. And it is affecting seniors way worse than the flu.I personally wouldn’t be worried if I got it, but J definitely see why there’s caution.
  10. I don’t think we will see the start of the season.....
  11. I think this cut was just for the 40 man guys for service time and injury reasons, right? I do want to see what Kirilloff and Larnach can do in triple-A to start off the year to see what they can do against experienced pitchers. Rosario, Buxton, Kepler, Cave, and Gonzalez in the majors and Kirilloff, Larnach, Rooker and Wade Jr. in Rochester. Absolutely stacked position.
  12. Javier Baez puts up similar numbers to Eddie Rosario, but is much more valuable because of his elite defense at short. If Eddie can hit .290/.350/.500 with 35-40 Bombas, while staying relatively healthy playing left field, he will be a top 10 player in the American League and get paid extremely well in the free agent market in a couple years. I don’t think those numbers are unattainable
  13. I honestly think Jake Cave is the answer for this year.... he would be a slightly below average center fielder, but Kepler and a healthy Rosario can hold the corners..... Celestino should only be a defensive replacement at this point in time if he makes the majors this year...
  14. Verlander and Grienke are future hall of famers. I could see Grienke fall of a cliff this year though. That velocity isn’t going any higher....... I would personally take the Astros rotation as is, but an injury would really hurt them
  15. The skills competition in that format would not be approved by the Player’s Association. Diving and trying to rob homeruns just screams injury risk.
  16. I think Cave/Wade are better options for now. If Buxton gets hurt, then you can maybe swing a trade or waiver pickup for a center fielder if needed. Buxton’s projections seem way too low.
  17. Tovar and Smalley deserve to be in. I assume Gardy will be inducted when he retires from coaching.
  18. 80 90 or 100 million dollar payrolls would not come close to bankrupting any teams. Enough revenue gets shared between teams to make this entirely feasible.
  19. In football/basketball, stars dominate the game, and the best team will most likely win. In baseball, anything can happen, which is why there’s a long season to even out the results. Reward only the best teams every year. 1/3rd of the teams making the playoffs is enough, although a 3 game Wild Card playoff would be a decent idea.
  20. I think we are already there. Cave and Gonzalez would be full time starters in a lot of places, Rooker is knocking at the door, and Kirilloff and Larnach should be AAA after a month or so of the season. And I didn’t even mention LaMonte Wade Jr.
  21. Jair Camargo. 20 year old catcher in low A. Not a top prospect by any means
  22. I personally wouldn’t have him this high (I admit I overvalue the hit tool a lot). But that’s what it takes to be a MLB caliber hitter. I get that 25 games is a very small sample size. I bet he’s been working hard all winter, given his attitude. I like this kid, and hope he can succeed!
  23. Luke Raley sent back to the Dodgers. Assume that leaves the 40 man spot to Chacin
  24. If the trade keeps on getting better for us (like it appears to have here), I would be fine with Take 10!
