  1. Not sure that's true. His fastball is straight and is 91-93.
  2. I disagree with the statement of baseball being killed. I'd suggest it's stronger than ever.
  3. Ok so I have to ask DG. Do you think Jeffers is a good catcher or not? Here you have him being traded for a no 1 SP plus a younger version of Jeffers. On other threads you believe Jeffers should have been gone and we should be trotting out Garver and Rortvedt as our catchers. Sorry just confused on your takes.
  4. Ok well just trust me..Jeffers is and was and will be more valuable than your Garver and Ben R. Yankees didnt wreck Rorvedt...he just wasn't good. Garver never was a strong D catcher. Still don't see how we bet the farm?
  5. I'd not consider Garver or Rortvedt #1 catchers in my opinion. Ones a DH..ones a oft injured backup at best. Jeffers is and was the best of those 3...as always just my opinion.
  6. I might be missing something...but how did the Twins "bet the farm" on Jeffers?
  7. I really like the out of the box idea to trade Joe Ryan. His value is sky high. I'm thinking multiple trades though.
  8. This all sounds great. I think what separates it, is it's created and done by us. The TD community. I know there is some great stories, information, and insight out there in our community.
  9. So major league at bats? Why? He can get plenty of bats in AA. How can a prospect who was an MVP just 21 years old be a lost prospect?
  10. I think it comes down to keeping Farmer at say 6.5m vs keeping Polanco at the 10.5m. So to say it's a 10m savings to our payroll wouldn't hold true. Savings would be closer to 4m. Then add in the salary of said player returning in a trade. I just don't see it as an optimal way of saving payroll.
  11. Ya..2023 narrative was "punt on the season".. 2024 inarrative is "payroll meltdown"..
  12. The Twins really like this kid..as do I. He is as close to untraceable as can be. He will be a multiple year Allstar and clubhouse leader if he stays healthy. His value will only go up..I promise. He is legit and special...this last part is not just my opinion.
  13. Maybe..maybe not. But he is the one that made the play for our Twins...not any of your random another mlb shortstop. He's the one that actually made the play.
  14. For me growing northern Ohio with parents as Pirates fans from PA I had no connection to the Guardians growing up. My first year in organized "little league" baseball at the local rec center at the age of 6, I was placed on the Twins team. All the teams had MLB names. Anyways we won the championship. I still got the team photo. I was hooked. My dad would show me were the real Twins were in the standings and took me to downtown Cleveland every summer to watch my MLB Twins when they came to town. I was even able to attach enough tin foil to my radio antenna and I could actually pick up the Twins broadcasts..but only at night when there seamed to be less static..even then I couldn't here much. I even recall many of the commercials like Jolt cola and others. I had no idea were Minnesota was in my younger years.. But I became a lifer. Being a Twins fan and wearing home made Twins shirts even got me into numerous fights with kids that couldn't understand why I didn't cheer for the local Cleveland team. There wasn't really any stores I could find that sold any Twins related gear...though we tried. So my Mom sewed me one every year and of course it would be torn to shreds by mid summer..lol. one of the best "choices?" of my life. It has lead me to some of my best experiences. I've lived many places but never in market. Now considering moving to Fort Myers area just so I can be around the kids and entire spring training. Sorry for being long winded.
  15. I had knee replacement surgery few weeks ago. I was really hoping to watch some solid Twins baseball all summer. I'm still watching but getting frustrated at this team.
  16. I agree with much of the above. One report that confused me was the one of Correa talked him into being only a DH. Why would Buxton need to be convinced to do this by Correa if he was physically unable to play CF. It just made it sound like it was a temporary situation. But I'm good either way.
  17. I love reading a comment like this. Well said @DocBauer. Knowing him pretty well, he did and many do have a hard time adjusting to a new country and new language. I am extremely proud of this young man. After nagging injuries he stated to me in the spring how excited he was to actually feel healthy coming into the season. He is a very hard working young man that may or not make it to the MLB. But the effort and heart are there. I too am just happy he's healthy and adjusting.
  18. Ya you all are right. Just DFA after skipping a start. Oh no wait...he got hit by a comeback. Definitely get rid of him. This is sarcasm. We need this guy! Overreact much?
  19. What would you rather have down? Sit on our hands and do nothing?
  20. Great info Seth, thankyou. Will you be putting out the Complex league roster as well when it's available? I always try to make a few of there games every summer. Any info on them is appreciated.
  21. I will definitely be looking into airfare from S Carolina to Cear Rapids to cheer the guys on!
  22. Not at all worried about Gallo adding value to this team. I worry about how much crow to serve out.
