  1. Sounds like he gets after it! Snagged him before Gardy could get him!
  2. It's just questioning the lack of pitchers drafted so far .... I tend to lean toward watching videos of pitchers myself, so I have an idea of who I liked (none were drafted) ... I'm not going to call out a pick, because obviously I don't know jack $*#. I think it's just fine to wonder where the pitching is going to come from .... The IFA comment definitely seems to be in play
  3. Another 3B ... How long until it changes to SS?
  4. Stinson still there (as are Ealy and Hearn) .... I like how these rounds fly by
  5. The White Sox just drafted culinary artist James Beard.
  6. They just switched Steer to SS. I guess they want to give Cavaco some competition.
  7. Wow, the Mets took Allan. Be interesting to see if he signs. I'm guessing not.
  8. It's been awhile since we've regularly had to say and spell Mientkiewicz. Maybe the Twins should draft Jack Kochanowicz and eventually pair him in the rotation with Jordan Balazovic. Also, I see at least three ranked prep players from Puerto Rico. I hope they keep that funnel alive as well. The current Twins wouldn't be who they are without that pipeline.
  9. I guess 2.4 mill was given to the 88th pick and 2 mill to the 109th pick last year, so there is precedent.
  10. Also, taking this with a grain of salt, but Hunter Barco's mom apparently posted on Facebook that he's going to Florida after not being drafted on Day 1.
  11. Allan will still be number 1 at the end of the day .... Happy Gators.
  12. Starting to look like Allan will be a Gator ... If he continues his development, I hope the Twins won't draft high enough to get him.
  13. I put this in the other thread, but if they can make the deal .... Matthew Allan
  14. Well, yeah ... After Snell, Morton and Glasnow, the 4 and 5 will both be openers, so that would push those guys back to 6,7 and 8. Meadows and Morton are the real deal. The Twins caught a break missing Snell and then Garcia and Pham for the most part. Keirmaier (sp?) is a great outfielder. Otherwise, I wasn't super impressed.
  15. My last seven 1st round desires once the Twins were on the clock (result): 2012 Buxton (Buxton) 2013 Braden Shipley (Stewart) 2014 Nola (Gordon) 2015 Carson Fulmer (Jay) 2016 Forrest Whitley (Kirilloff) 2017 Hunter Greene (Lewis) 2018 Jackson Kowar (Larnach) I like Matthew Allan at his point for 2019, and I hope the Twins can figure out the bonus offer. Good luck, Twins!!
  16. The last couple years, the Twins have saved money in the first round to pay above slot in the later rounds for high schoolers. I wonder if they would consider the opposite this year if Allan is sitting there at 13. Pay above slot early and then draft cheaper prospects later.
  17. Sano would have to be a write-in ... If Gonzalez loses by one vote, I'll submit to being pilloried outside Target Field for a weekend series.
  18. I enjoy hearing the stories as long as it doesn't take away from viewing the game. Devin Smeltzer likely wants to be a major league baseball player that happened to beat cancer when he was 9. He likely doesn't want to be the cancer kid who plays baseball. It seemed a bit awkward for Devin's dad to cheer for his son making a nice play on a weak groundball with Marni and a mic in his face. Again, it's a great story. It's obvious that what didn't kill him made him stronger and all that good stuff, but I think people like Morris take it too far. He just keeps adding to his resume of being the worst option as a color analyst.
