  1. I wouldn't say he quietly picked up his 6th strikeout, Jack. It's been pretty loud all around those Ks.
  2. They could also just wait until tomorrow and then have a few out of control follow-thrus land squarely on the back of Perez' head (Pawlecki not worth it)
  3. Me too, and I don't work until Monday.
  4. At least the camera crew caught two F-bombs from Thorpe ... One for each run due to walks.
  5. Michael Pineda screwed this team over big time. I appreciate that Gibson came back and took one for the team, but his delivery is all messed up. I hope the best for him, and I hope he can get effective treatment. He should be shut down. The Twins really need Odorizzi and Berrios to deliver all-star performances this weekend, because starting pitching looks like it will be a patch job the rest of the way. You almost have to offer Odorizzi the QO. I don't care if the Twins have a strong negotiation case with Pineda. I don't want him on the team. Gibson should walk as well. It's a tough business, but his health issues are very concerning. Stewart/Hildenberger = Two no-brainer 40-man openings
  6. Huma llama numa numa Oh sacred circa April 2018 god of the baseball's seeing eye Please bestow your blessing on your faithful subject of AAAA once again If you see fit to answer this prayer, give us a sign via extreme darkness in the 5 o'clock shadow
  7. If they do postpone it and don't make it up, that will be a negative for me. I have gifted tickets tonight in the lower level behind home plate. I likely won't be getting those again this year.
  8. Yeah, September 30 is the only option. That could conflict with possible game 163s for either team. Tough mudder!
  9. Accuweather is showing only a 20% chance of rain after 8 PM. Where is scottz? He's the expert.
  10. Random Thoughts: 1) Perfect opportunity against a tough lefty to move Rosario down a few clicks. Maybe he can see a few more pitches and get out of this slump. 2) Nevermind #1 .... Eddie's batting 4th. 3) Polanco off to Romper Room. 4) Garver can hit a home run followed by an Arraez single. 5) If the subjects in #4 switched, wouldn't the Twins get more runs? 6) Ryan LaMarre is a starting outfielder on a team trying to hold a division lead in September.
  11. Yes to this ^ I still can't believe the best immediate depth option was Ryan LaMarre. De Aza's AAAA numbers look better. I know his leftiness is redundant with Miller, but I'm looking for a professional PA. Miller is only here to run and catch. Don't need to platoon split that.
  12. Too bad he's a catcher and doesn't play for Brian Snitker .... Baldelli is probably stressing about how he won't get him enough time off (you know employees these days are demanding that) .... Baldelli is completely relieved and happy with himself for leaving Garver on the bench while Rosario, Astudillo and Adrianza popped their way to futility against the shadow of Fernando Rodney --- If I recall correctly, there was a certain power-hitting catcher that had his way with Rodney in a big situation about 16.5 months ago. Garver is a better hitter, and Rodney is even worse now. Nevermind that option. Gotta have that day off.
  13. Appears that at least a one hour delay is going to happen ... Odorizzi should just head to Cleveland as scheduled.
  14. I think that is the perfect summation. He got BABIP'd by Soto and Zimmerman early with Polanco just out of range on Soto's grounder, but he walked Rendon to setup the second run. Eddie took a bad route and the crosswind helped make him pay for that inside-out Kendrick liner, but Perez lost his focus and served up a pipeshot to Zimmerman.
  15. Wow, Graterol kind of just dominated that MVP candidate. Well played!
  16. Just have to get Stras out of there ...
  17. ... after a walk-off home run that Mitch Garver hits off Ian Kennedy while I'm downing my sixth Coors Light of the afternoon.
  18. Too bad there isn't draft pick compensation for losing coaching and management personnel
  19. Cruz is in the lineup today. Don't tell me that he couldn't have taken one PA. Astudillo could have gone to first. Castro could have caught. Adrianza could have gone to the outfield. The way Hand was pitching, Cruz would have added even more pressure.
  20. That sucks. Cave and Kepler still unavailable too. Run for cover, I guess. Looks like a getaway lineup for game one of the Nats series.
  21. It's all hope based on his contribution to the 2017 playoff team and early domination in 2018 when there wasn't much book out on him. I guess he could adjust and become a master locator, but with his stuff, the command has to be impeccable. Otherwise, maybe some of his supporters went out and bought his jersey in 2017 hoping he was the closer in waiting. Maybe they'd like to don that jersey sans mockery.
  22. Baldelli didn't seem to care about winning with two outs in the bottom of the ninth in the last Cleveland game.
  23. Context much? You must have misplaced the qualifier.
