  1. I don't know about getting aggressive at 11-17. At some point, Happ will have to pitch against an actual offense, and he's going to get shelled. Maeda smoked and mirrored his way to not even a quality start. We know Berrios will be terrible after the AS break. Shoemaker is toast. And, last but not least, Big Mike isn't going to be a 30 start guy. I won't be surprised if this team gets swept in Chicago next week, then, hopefully, reality will set in. Now it looks like Kirilloff may be headed for the IL. May be time for a blow-up.
  2. Maybe Happ can be traded for a relief prospect at the deadline.

  5. For a team just trying to get back into it, 5-2 seems to be a must this week. That means winning all the Berrios, Pineda and Happ starts and somehow squeezing a win out of Maeda or Shoemaker. I'd bring Thorpe up tomorrow and be ready for a quick hook on Maeda, if he keeps getting shelled.
  6. Buxton's on a whole other baseball plane right now.
  7. It hurt me to watch Pineda participate in that rundown.
  8. Excited to see Rortvedt behind the plate ... Kansas City has some runners, so he may get a chance or three.
  9. It's way too early for this assessment. Especially considering that he's already had a four hit game this season and those all came from the left side. Just the improvement from the first 10 games until present shows that he's coming around. I think he'll be back to his .270/.330/.420 self by mid-May.
  10. I don't think Detroit is a pretender. Their record reflects the consensus thought on what type of season they would have. We'll get a good idea of the Kansas City situation this weekend. Duffy and Singer have been pretty good so far. Singer is a talent and could be figuring it out. Duffy is probably more likely to be in a hot stretch, but perhaps he will have a career year. Until yesterday, the Twins weren't exactly pegging lefties, so the question of pretender should be on full display Saturday.
  11. You're correct. It's just a figure of speech.
  12. I'm sorry, but nothing that's been said here is going to convince me to pass judgement on people who don't want to get vaccinated. My wife and I will get our second shots in three weeks. My son will get vaccinated after his lacrosse season is over. After that, it's live and let live.
  13. Well, just need to go 12-5 in the next 17.
  14. Yeah Mill1634 should be making it rain at the club tonight.
  15. Solid start from Happ .... I'm guessing we might have a Dobber sighting
  16. It must have been leftover product from Lindor's locker.
  17. The results a couple weeks ago against Seattle suggest yes.
  18. They should have, but it's probably against an unwritten rule.
  19. I suppose if you were going to bet on anyone ....
