    Or maybe this.... The Astros were planning to celebrate Gonzalez's time in Houston with a video tribute prior to the game. "It feels great when people talk good about you," said Gonzalez, who's been the Twins' starting third baseman with Miguel Sano injured. "I did my best. I did all I could every day I was out there. I appreciate everything they said about me." In seven seasons with Houston, Gonzalez provided the club remarkable versatility with his ability to play all over the field while being a productive player. He hit .303 with 23 homers and a team-leading 90 RBIs and a .907 OPS during the Astros' championship season and was the starting left fielder in the playoffs. "He was invaluable for me as a manager," AJ Hinch said. "I could move him around the field and he became the answer to a lot of issues that came up. ... It's hard to put in context all the different things that he did, and maybe some things that we don't remember until he's gone and you notice how many guys it takes to fill in the role he played. He's beloved in our clubhouse. While we wanted him back, he'll be missed. Part of that banner that hangs up there is because of his contribution." Simply my point is this.....for 10.5 million a year, mark my words, this is a great deal for a clutch player. If you'd rather have Michael Brantley then please, Please transfer into my fantasy baseball league.

    I like the Rudy story and the sire of Ft. Myers as much as anyone. I am sure even Harper himself knows that when Magill, Moya, and Reed come back he will be in Rochester. If he holds it together he could be part of the "overworked bullpen shuttle" that is sure to come later this summer. Whoever we run out there is going to have their bad days. This guy wasn't gonna be perfect all year. I hope he stays positive and keeps trying to get better every single day.

Gonzalez, the Twins' third baseman whose two-out, game-tying home run off Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen in Game 2 of the 2017 World Series ranks as perhaps the greatest home run in Astros franchise history, made his first trip back to Houston when the Twins opened a three-game series against the Astros on Monday. Wherever Gonzalez went on the field prior to the game, fans were yelling his name as a handful of former teammates -- Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, Jake Marisnick, Gerrit Cole and, of course, Jose Altuve -- came over to exchange handshakes, hugs and memories. "It feels good," said Gonzalez, who drove Altuve's car to the ballpark. "This place was the place that gave me the road to the big leagues, and I spent the last seven years of my life, of my career, over here. And I get to sleep in my own bed, too." Gonzalez was the first player Jeff Luhnow acquired only hours after taking over as general manager late in 2011 and was a centerpiece of the Astros' rebuilding efforts. Gonzalez and Altuve were part of an Astros team that lost 111 games in 2013 and won the World Series four years later, thanks in part to Gonzalez's stunning homer at Dodger Stadium that tied the series, 1-1. He also broke up a Yu Darvish perfect-game attempt with two outs in the ninth inning with a single on the second day of the 2013 season. This is from the post game wrap on tonight's victory.     You could just remember the 2017 World Series. Or if you didn't watch it you could go back and watch the tape. Houston is not my team but I am sure i could prove it with statistics, quotes and interviews from teammates, coaches, and fans, or illustrating how he filled in for all the injuries during their fantastic 2017 regular season. If you require all of that over my opinion of Michael Brantley then I'm way more important than I ever thought I was. Love him if you want to. He's someone that Im glad we dont have to play against 19 times a year anymore. He's also someone I'd never want to see in a Minnesota Twins uniform.

    ok well specifically be i mean how many Championships has Michael Brantley ever won? After all this time on the Greatest team the AL Central central has ever seen(sarcasm included) and all his trips to the DL, I am perfectly fine with the way things turned out. Also, if I had a choice to start Brantley or Rosario in left field I would pick our guy every time. Is Brantley a good player? Of course I can't deny that. He is not a leader, he is not durable, and he has never helped take a team to an elite level. Their window of opportunity in Cleveland has been open for almost his entire career and he has never ever been a difference maker. Without looking up any statistics, there were plenty of other answers available to the Astros other than him. I am not going to apologize for thinking Houston made a big mistake when they did their roster revamp this offseason. The way the injury bug hits their middle infield they will be sorry that Gonzalez is in a Twins uni. I guess i put more stake in winning Championships than i do launch angles, exit velocity, and batting average against on balls put in play. (is that BAAbpip). We will get to see first hand how it all plays out. I just hope the Twins are still playing in October.

    I totally agree! Why tinker with something that's not an issue. Man this lineup is scary when you have a threat like that at #9. Opposing pitchers(and catchers) must get squeamish when they realize there just arent any abs that you can make a mistake. If you get caught slippin, We gonna make you pay. I say leave Buck alone and let him do his thing. So far I'll take it.

    His numbers don't lie, but I can't say I've ever seen him pitch live. I thought he was someone we should look at before we got Perez . I have seen Perez live and man, I can't believe he hasn't had a more successful career. So, nope, to get Gio, Perez would have to go and I think Perez is a keeper. As our number 5 starter? We could do way worse than Perez.

    I guess I didnt mean to call out their moves. I have never really been much of a Michael Brantley fan and i sure dont think hes worth all the money hes making. It seems like everyone considers him some elite outfielder when really he's never been more than average IMO. Also in my opinion having players around that have won championships are way more important than what their sybermetric stat sheet says. Some players play well in clutch situations (like maybe Lou Pinella) but their career numbers would never place them in the HOF. Houston is definitely a top tier team, my point is(all sarcsm aside) I feel like they took a step backwards this year by what they did and didnt address. Keuchel, Gonzalez going, and the acquisitions of Brantley, and Diaz the latter basically to replace Gonzalez.

    I am starting to get worried about what's going on with Reed. I hear nothing. With relievers, and especially in a disappointing season(such as last year) we often tend to remember only the failures of a bullpen. Reed is a proven quality major league pitcher I hope we havent given up on him or we find out he wasn't cooperating with the new staff. As with all our guys I wanna see him succeed. Especially for Us.

    I have seen all the negativity towards Castro and though I don't agree with it completely, I do understand it. With the other two catchers hitting so well its easy to bash him. The facts to me are, Astudillo's value to the team at other positions will ultimately keep him in the Majors when Sano is deemed ready to return. Garver, I believe has options as well so his bat and his versatility at 1b is in his favor. If Castro is truly assuming the role of veteran mentor that we hope he is(i have no inside info one way or another)then i understand why we need him or want him around. He Does take good at bats, he hits left handed, his contract, and his willingness to share his defensive knowledge make him valuable and unlikely to get cut. I highly doubt a trade is possible unless we have another 2018 disaster. Garver and Astudillo hitting this well all year us highly unlikely

    This isnt a bad time to just say "let's just win this series" Its our first true test against teams we could very well see in the playoffs. (And No, IMO Cleveland is not one of them) I think we have a good shot. Houston is going to find out that injuries will derail them this year without Marwin. Plus they paid MICHAEL BRANTLEY! LOL. That will go down in history as a monumental blunder. Michael Brantley is no Marwin Gonzalez. This whole American league is ripe for the taking, as long as Toronto doesn't stand in our way. lol.

    Hes gonna have to learn that to stay in the major leagues, he's gotta be a reliever too. If his stuff was good enough to start he would have beaten Perez out.

    I think they screwed up by babying him in Spring Training. He looks like he's just not in game shape. Not physically, just location and sharpness wise.

    It sure will and it will give us a chance to be reminded how asinine it was to trade RP to a team that likely will eliminate us from the playoffs. That trade will make me scratch my head until I ever see the day any one of those suspects step on a major league field.

    After what I've seen so far why not? All the analytics point towards this being a Championship caliber offense and with the payroll flexibility we have we should go All In. If they don't, then either the Pohlads stopped em, or they really dont wanna win.
