  1. Big fan of Arraez hit tools. If not for that knee injury, I think we would have seen him up this year. Not a great glove, so that probably plays into the GMs sabermetric thoughts
  2. Analytics is one thing, but as a coach it also comes down to working with egos, motivation and communication. All of these young guys come with great respect, so I will wait to pass judgement.
  3. Impressive list of minor Leaguers! I don't remember a team coming close to having that many B- or higher rankings from Sickels. One of my favorite bats is Luis Arraez, wounder if the front office would give him strong considerations in the spring for the open 2B job?
  4. Mejia seems like a guy that could benefit from an opener in front of him. He often time is sitting with high pitch counts in the 5th or 6th and rarely goes beyond that. He has some nasty stuff that needs to be harnessed to become a true starter
  5. Astudillo and Cave are 2 keepers for next year. Kepler better watch out or Cave will take away a bunch of ABs
  6. Grossman is a nice bench bat, not someone that is an everyday player. If we head into 2019 expecting Robbie to be a key bat I will be extremely frustrated. Also tired of the media types whining about Buxton. He didn't come ready to play in 2018, the Twins owe him nothing! If he had been raking like last September and the wrist wasn't a lingering issue, then he could be mad.
  7. Seems the front office is making sure we get a top 10 pick with Hildy trying to close games.
  8. Bring back Mauer on a 1 year deal in the $7-12m area. And please have him be our extra bat on the bench. Let him start 60-80 games and the rest use him to PH.
  9. Any chance Tyler Jay is brought up? Let's get this youth movement going
  10. Another power arm that has already had TJ surgery, love the return! If we had a reliable closer this year, tack another 5+ wins on the board
  11. Very good question. Not very often do you see a guy that can rake at AA not hit in AAA. I could see the FO wanting the younger player, ie Gordon, to get some tips from guys that have been in the bugs already.
  12. I could see a C with one of the top 2 picks, but prefer to stick to BPA approach. Good arms and bats are always in need
  13. It is nice to have 3 spots with solid pitchers and a 4th when Santana comes back. If Gibson and/or Hughes fail, we have some decent options waiting in the wings. I hope the days of retread SPs is gone for a long time. We might not have an ace, but we don't have 3 #5 pitchers in the rotation either
