  1. At least the game I'm not watching doesn't seem to have much worth watching in it anyway.
  2. I already know I don't know. You don't have to rub it in. 😉
  3. This could be one of those games where we only need to find one run somehow.
  4. 26 up, 24 down. 4 innings, 51 minutes. Since I'm not watching I don't know if it's brilliant pitching or substandard batting.
  5. Clicked on what? On your TV? On your computer/phone? Do you subscribe to Apple TV? Maybe you and/or your mom are paying for it without realizing it? Enlighten us, please.
  6. Sounds like the Twins caught a break. But that doesn't make me like poor performance by the umpires.
  7. I'm a boomer curmudgeon and I don't want to **** with Apple TV. I don't even want a ****ing free trial that when I go to cancel I'll mess up and wind up subscribing to 5 years. I'm just going to follow the action on gameday. And while I'm at it **** MLB.
  8. These errors appear to have been corrected. The information in the article is now accurate.
  9. I would not use the word probable.
  10. And, even though this was not explicitly stated, is very likely to be better than Baldelli. I don't think such a person exists. Probably the biggest stumbling block here is proven. That means someone who has capably managed a team, especially at a major league level. The heart of the issue here is that it's very easy to fire a manager but it's more difficult and more important to identify and hire a good one. I have no experience in human resources but I think if a high-level business executive is fired a replacement is often already set to take the position. Fire Baldelli? IMHO, do that only if there is someone better ready to step in.
  11. Either I didn't see or I don't recall the play RivBri is referencing. How close was he to the wall? How many outs? Any bases occupied? How deep was the ball hit? These things factor into the decision whether to dive. For example, if there's a runner on third with less than two outs you need to be able to make a throw home after a catch. If you dive to catch a foul ball you're enabling a run to score. In that case, better to let it drop and hope for a more favorable scenario.
  12. I know it’s difficult to remain optimistic but here’s this: extrapolating the current standings results in 91 wins for our favorite team and ending the season in first place by 18 games. Keep the faith!
  13. Why are these base runners sliding at home when they are force plays? Run through the base, just like at first.
  14. Dick, the Twins have not done any suicide squeezes. Safety squeezes, yes.
  15. We could use a few sparks from the top of the order here.
  16. Pagan back out for the 7th? Do you feel lucky?
  17. Wonder if Gallo has especially bad numbers against Bummer.
  18. Larnach will probably be Farrokh Bulsara's last batter faced.
  19. Depends on the outfielder. Depends on the runner.
  20. Be interesting to see if Rocco sends Buck here.
  21. We could use one of those 6-4-3 deals.
  22. ??? If he was already on the base when he was tagged it should matter.
