Interesting article. Can the Marlins really be so down on their chances that they will trade away most of their good pitching. If that is true, I wonder what Captain Jeter is smoking.
I suspect that the Twins analytic department can provide the data needed to help Jose with his pitch mix. I believe that Jose's pitching motion should be simplified so as to provide more consistency.
Gardenhire, " Alexa that was not a strike. You blew that call and I am really upset. You a bleeping, bleeping, bleep." Alexa, " Gardy, you have to leave now. Goodbye.
I believe that Falvey will try to build the pitching staff from within the system, maybe adding one up and coming starting pitcher from another organization. I think of Cleveland this year which at the end of the season was starting 3 pitchers from the 2016 draft. Pohlad's money will then be safe.
I see the Twins bringing back Odo and Pineda. The FO wants to build the rotation from within. They will try to sign a good starting pitcher or trade for one. Cron will likely not be back and Sano will play more first base. He is being groomed as the DH successor to Nelson Cruz. Sano could still play 3rd base if needed. Twins need a spot for Kiriloff and others who will be ready for the bigs in 20 or 21. Castro and Schoop will be gone. Interesting times.
Baseball to me is a celebration of the warm weather months. I greatly enjoyed the many hours of entertainment that the Twins and their minor league teams provided me. Next year I plan to subscribe to MILB TV to be able to watch some of those minor league games. Thank you to the TWins and the TWins Daily staff for a wonderful summer.
If I ran the Twins and if David Ortiz was in the country, I would have paid him to come and give the team a pep talk about how the RedSox came back from being down 3-0 and beat the Yankees 4 straight in 2004.
I don't understand why Rocco didn't start Schoop didn't start against a lefthanded pitcher. He is also a better fielder than Luis A . Then he could have brought Luis in later in the game against a right hander. As for Berrios, I would have brought him out to ptich the fifth inning. His command had not been good early, but his last 2 innings were better and his pitch count was low enough for him to do another inning. Littel had been good for us, but the stress seemed to get to him tonight.
