  1. It just won't stop. "Wallner being a primary contributor to the teams early success at the plate". What? Really well thought out article but again do we always need to prop up Matt to pull it off.....because he's from (but left) here? Even he knows it's not working. I hope for every kids' success but it shouldn't be gifted.
  2. This 💯. What is the 'tool' we keep being patient for? Byron... many. Royce? Unfortunately none. I'm not sure his contract but let it ride or trade him. (and I like the kid - it just didn't work out)
  3. I didn't quite follow the Brazil aspect but I think I 100% agree. In fairness, I think Falvey made some really good trades. Drafts? Meh. Developed power arms? Yes. But the whole approach between him and Rocco - win or lose - was never 'fun' baseball to watch. I know this won't continue but I lost much interest in the home run or strikeout approach.... and a starter can't go more than 4 2/3. great post
  4. Haha typical MN response (from me) "I know it's really early in the year" but is it possible Rocco was simply an awful manager? I think most liked him, me included, but somewhere along the way it feels like he lost concept. We can debate MW all day but if in the lineup, should Rocco had him as lead off hitter? Probably not fair to Matt. The lineups changed every single day. A starter couldn't go more than 4-5 innings. no idea where this ends, but as and old timer it's fun to watch baseball played again the way I was raised with.
  5. Disagree very respectably. Go young. OBP, speed, defense. We will never compete with the dodgers with big contracts to Pablo, Jeffers. (Ryan I struggle with)
  6. This is a great post. I also remember how I felt after 20-25 games in 1991. The best part of baseball (outside of the Dodgers) is ya never know.... well done!
  7. Or Wallner's.....? but done with the apologists who just love the long ball.. I love this article. Doubt AM's success lasts, but I find a buck, AM, Keaschall 1-2-3 really entertaining. That's just me, doesn't have to be you. Brings me back to how great baseball (they have 4 bases for a reason) is played.
  8. Career OPS Gallo:.775 Arraez: .776 useless comp to the question? Seems pretty comparable to me. Gallo better defender but to the question asked....I'd take Arraez. Neither of us are Casey Stengel friend so we can have opinions to questions posed. If you find someone asking something you find useless, I'd say keep scrolling. I found it an interesting question.
  9. I don't find it useless at all. But must admit I Grabbed some popcorn, sat back and just waited for someone to hear the name Wallner and jump on. Can't go there!! He/She said 'type'. So maybe a rephrase is needed. How about 'Gallo or Arraez' type. I would take Luis every single time.
  10. Which wont continue of course but I love the speed and contact. Poor defending sloths that hit .201 do not win at baseball. 1999 and advanced stats skewed us. Fun to watch.
  11. The same people complaining about mediocrity are shouting from the rooftops to keep mediocre (or less) players out there. It's craziness really. Stand in place, make catch, inning over, different ballgame.
  12. Wallner was personally responsible for turning the tide. Brutal play in the 4th. Cmon. It's fun having athletes. And competent players makes that play, and it's 4-1. he gave up 4 when SWR would have been out of the inning. Brutal.. get GG up here now. If all you advanced folks think MW is killing it, fine. (I disagree) But get him the heck out of the outfield. This Could be fun athletic team. Not with him
  13. It's a joke, and this is supposed to an educated fan site. Wallner is every last thing wrong with this lineup. I am sure a great local kid. I know many great local kids. But it's getting so over the top the love affair. It hasn't worked out. It's too bad. Move on his bombs are amazing 20 times a year. His RBI's are great 40 times a year. His batting avg is terrible. Please get back in a month with results, not 'adjustments'
  14. #1 TD writers are killing it again. I guess spring has sprung. And no, I'm not an investor. #2 why do you say he is mentally fragile? Confused on that. His career has not worked out but mentally fragile is not how I would describe him. Physically? Fair.
  15. This isn't twins territory it's Wallner territory. I don't get it. And nothing against the kid/man.... he can't help where is was born. But GG and emma should be flanking Byron and it's not close. Until we go there, the twins are not serious.
  16. Another great article, but I found the Gallo reference odd, since we have Gallo-light as our starting right fielder. Sooo many more better examples. i like the direction Zoll is going
  17. This is well said, it 💯 is a bet on Wallner, Larnach and Lewis, Jeffers having a good year and Buxton being healthy. Not sure I'd take that bet. But for the moves they did I like the return. But I'm biased toward hope with prospects :)
  18. 1st, the articles lately have been top notch. Awesome job by the writers 2nd, for all the angst at the deadline trades last year, I wouldn't take back the Duran, Jax or Varland Trades for a second. We were not contending with them. We'll see, but we got two rotation starters, a stud catching prospect and super live lefty arm at AA/AAA. What does our rotation look like right now without those trades?
  19. Baseball is about optimism and hope. It's what makes it different, and magical (and frustrating). Try not to be to cynical and just enjoy the spring of this year, and WJ's potential. . There will probably be plenty of time mid season to be down :) I thought this article was really insightful!
  20. Check his career vs Sano thru the same age.? They just came from different places. hey, I tuned in when both of them come/came to the plate. Light tower power is fun. But it doesn't win games..
