  1. Who better to lead a workshop on conflict resolution than Steve and Dan? lol Maybe Torii and Justin?
  2. Looking to send a couple cards for TTM and wondering which former players will be at ST. I've looked around the web and on here for an answer, but couldn't find exact information. Mods, feel free to move this to the correct thread. Thanks!
  3. I've never been to Minnesota, let alone Minneapolis, but friends that have been there have said it's an awesome city and state. I would assume it would be more about taxes and what not that would make it an unappealing destination, but I can't imagine the city having worse restaurants, clubs, bars, and other entertainment than other mid-market cities. At this point, Kimbrel and Keuchel would be willing to take a high value one year or two year deal. Why not offer three year deals with an opt out after this year. 3 yr/60 mil for both with opt outs after year one. I guess if I'm thinking about that then management has already offered something like that and they declined or are keeping it on the table until something better comes along.
  4. Universal DH - No - I actually enjoy watching the Twins pitchers hit during inter-league play. 26th Man - Yup - Maybe even make it 27. Definitely not interested in the 28 roster for September. Pitch clock - Yup - What happens when a pitcher is close to the end of the clock and steps off to get a new pitch clock? Mound Visits - No - Eventually only three mound visits? What's stopping the pitcher from stepping off the mound and walking to the foul line and talking with the coach? Three Batter Minimum - No - I think the matchups are intriguing. That's what makes baseball special. Anti-Tanking - No - If teams want to tank, let them. At the end of the day, fans will stop showing up and that ends up hurting the owners pockets. I don't even know how you'd quantify "tanking". I mean the Royals were absolutely terrible during the mid 2000's and I don't think they were losing on purpose; they just had terrible players outside of Mike Sweeney. Their player development was poor and thus they didn't bring high level talent to the MLB club. I'd like to see MLB institute a minimum payroll. There should be no reason that owners are allowed to pocket the revenue sharing money and not invest that into their team. If you can't afford to spend $65 million on your baseball team, you don't deserve to have one, lol
  5. Hopefully this is a replacement for Grossman. If it is, then this is a solid low risk move. If Grossman is on the roster, you gotta think they saw enough to Tyler Austin and Cron takes his place. I suppose there could also be a three player battle for two roster spots come spring training. I do like the move. They aren't going to get Goldschmidt and I don't think Carlos Santana is any better for the salary he makes than Cron.
  6. More Morneau! Would actually rather see him as a hitting coach in the minors and eventually up with the Twins.
  7. The Twins had three pitching prospects in rankings this year. Romero, Gonsalves, and Graterol. While they may not be at the same level as the Tigers or Sox, that's still a good number to have. Graterol may very well be a stud. Romero looked great at times. Gonsalves had a rough go, but also pitched more innings than he has in his career. Thorpe may not be too bad either. I think the Twins are doing fine.
  8. I say go big on Patrick Corbin. Kid is a stud. Won't be 30 until next July. Probably be a big contract, but I like him better than any of the other options. No reason they couldn't make a serious bid at both him and Machado. I understand that this is a trade target thread, but I don't see them making any major trade this winter. I'd rather spend money than trade prospects at this point. I really don't see any impact deal where the other doesn't ask for Lewis or Kirilloff. I wonder how much trade value Gonsalves has; same with Romero (not that I'd trade either). Gordon probably doesn't have too much value. Would it be too soon to move the A and A+ guys? I just don't see where the Twins trade from and I am not knowledgeable enough to even know who they could target with a with guys like Rooker, Baddoo, Graterol, Enlow, Thorpe, etc... I also don't really want to trade any of those player quite yet.
  9. What about Patrick Corbin? He should be a free agent. He may not be in the class of Kershaw, but he is pretty dang good.
  10. There's not an open spot on the 25 man. Someone is going to get sent down because the FO feels the need to try a 31 year old that has already been cut by four teams this year. I understand he strikes guys out, but why would other teams cut this guy if he was that good? Jake Reed, Tyler Duffey, John Curtiss, Kohl Stewart, and Alan Busenitz deserve more of a chance that Drake. The infielder pickup is about depth; that one is fine. But the pitcher move is definitely inexcusable when you have guys in your system that are deserving of a chance.
  11. You're right. That's why this move in inexcusable. Falvey and Lavine are jokes.
  12. To be fair, no other organization has picked him up either. These moves are still inexcusable.
  13. BOOOO!! Just another stupid move by this front office. I just got this notification and am still scratching my head WTF?! These dudes gotta go!
  14. Really great moves for these two guys considering the Twins farm system is pretty good to begin with; granted a lot of that talent is A or below.
  15. If you could get a deal for Realmuto headlined by Gordon, I think this would have already been done. Don't you? I don't know if I'd give up Kiriloff just yet.
  16. I don't see Dozier going anywhere. I don't see much value coming back for him and unfortunately might have to bite the bullet here on this one. I wonder if they missed their chance by trying to wait out the Brewers...
  17. My biggest complaint with the FO is that it seems like they feel they need to prove that the guys they brought into the organization was a good decision. Motter sucks. He has sucked his entire career. Couldn't hit a lick at AAA or AA for that matter. 0-14 up in the MLB. This is an absolutely bonehead decision. These guys gotta go.
  18. One game does not salvage a season when we're almost to the all-star break. He was solid at the plate tonight. Good for him. Now do it for another 80 games.
  19. According to Baseball Reference Garver's WAR: 0.3 Wilson's WAR: -0.5 His catching ability cannot possibly be that good that he is still on this team. And if he's a "mentor" to Garver, obviously isn't doing a hell of a job teaching him the finer points of receiving.
  20. I could hit .115. Can I make a prorated MLB minimum salary?
  21. I haven't seen that article. I guess being a Twins fan we get ticked when we don't sign guys to high dollar contracts, but honestly, they aren't conducive to success. Has Davis been worth it since signing that huge deal? Only four seasons of +.800 OPS in 11 years as a major league ball player. And people want to complain about Mauer's huge contract...
