  1. Come on Gibson. Don't **** this one up.
  2. That was a huge shot by Sano. That's the kind of at-bats that he needs to have. Patient. Not over aggressive. Wonderful clutch homer.
  3. At this point it's a no brainer that Cruz gets his option picked up, right?
  4. Gibson absolutely needs to come out here and simply throw quality strikes. Stop trying to get them to swing and miss everything.
  5. That was awesome! Polanco's was a bomb! You can put it on the board! YES!
  6. Seriously Gibson. Just throw strikes.
  7. I'd include him in any major deal that would net Noah Syndagaard or Luis Castillo.
  8. That's going to be the turning point of the season.
  9. Gonna be rough next year for FA SP. Gerritt Cole is the only guy outside of Gibson and Wheeler that I'd give a contract to. Edit to add Wheeler
  10. I'll pass on Boyd. Average year last year. Nearly 3 k/9 higher than his career. Not worth a top 10 prospect and then some. Detroit is out of their minds in they think he's worth the house. Greene on the other hand may be a better target. Late inning reliever who has had a consistent k/9 rate. Probably pitching over his head in terms of ERA, but would to be a definite upgrade to the bullpen.
  11. I think the Twins will hardly have to gut the system to acquire talent. The Twins farm system is nationally touted as top 10. Ahead of Yankees and Astros. Twins have three/four top 100 (three top 50) prospect. Most of the major deals over the past couple years have rarely included more than one top 50 prospect. Prospects are a dime a dozen. Need to utilize their value and sometimes their value is tradebait. And sometimes, you have to give up talent to acquire talent. I'd consider the deadline a failure without acquiring two top notch relievers.
  12. Yikes. Not a great way to head into the all star break. Indians gained 4.5 games in less than two weeks. I have an awful feeling that the Twins will be playing in the Wild Card game, if that at all. Come on, boys! Gotta come out swinging in that series against the Indians coming out of the break. I feel like this is a must win series. Can't lose anymore games in the standings.
  13. Kepler and Rogers are really the only choices. Buxton and Rosario ended their cases when they got hurt. Cruz hits it when it isn't clutch time. Garver really just didn't play enough at catcher.
  14. Yes. To the Twins. Schoop is a fine player. I'd rather have him as a regular than Arraez. His value comes as Adrianza's league minimum replacement.
  15. Good win for the Twins. Let's get the sweep tomorrow as a nice way to head into the break.
  16. Cam Maybin and Andrew Miller were included in a trade - got back Cabrera Andrus and Saltalamachia - got back Texiera Giolito and Renaldo Reyes - got back Adam Eaton That's what I found for top 50 prospects being dealt in one deal.
  17. If teams are asking for those three it'd better be a couple badass players coming back to the Twins. When's the last time three top 50 prospects have been involved in a deal? I can't think of one off the top of my head.
  18. Cody Allen doesn't make you feel much better about the future of the bullpen? lol What about those other scrubs they signed to MILB contracts? Maybe other teams aren't making their guys available yet or they are asking the moon and neither have flinched yet. I find this hard to believe and I think that we're going to be disappointed at the trade deadline. Ultimately, I think it is up to the fans to make a stand. There needs to be a serious protest scheduled if they do absolutely nothing at the deadline; something like absolutely no one going to a homestand or something.
  19. I wonder if making a trade with a team that for both a SP and RP would make it easier to acquire both. I guess I just don't know where to acquire a starter better than Berrios that a team is going to want to give up. I wonder if making a push for a rental that has postseason experience is the way to go. Zack Wheeler also poses an interesting option. Maybe a move to the bullpen makes his 98+ mph fastball that much better. Stroman and Giles from the Jays? Bumgarner and Smith from the Giants? Wheeler and Lugo from the Mets? Grienke and Holland from the D'Backs? I don't really see a team we get a starter from outside of these four teams. Maybe the Reds, but do they have anyone better than Berrios or anyone with playoff experience? Pirates? Seattle? Most teams in the NL are within striking distance of the wildcard game; don't see them trading good pitching away. The prospects the Twins will need to give up will be costly, but that is why you have prospects; to improve the major league club. Sell high on those guys while you can!
