Joey Gallo is just one of the most impossible baseball players I've ever seen. It's like he's two different players depending on whether he's holding a bat or wearing a glove. As a cohesive whole, he makes no sense.
If nothing else, I'm glad Royce wasn't carted off the field after digging out a cubic yard of turf with his right knee on that over the shoulder catch attempt.
Okay, my bad. But there was zero indication that Lopez would fall apart like this (and he also had weak contact assists and less than stellar defense to back him up). This was a team effort. Lopez wasn't good but this inning is a 10th percentile outcome given the balls in play.
Possibly, but the rest of this division has been even more inept than the Twins. The run differential between the Twins and Tigers is nearly 100, last I checked. They're a lot worse than their record and the Guardians just keep flailing.
They've legitimately been as good as their stats last I checked.
It's just Lopez that has been going through an off-and-on rough patch for six-ish weeks.
