  1. When did FSN broadcasts start showing pitcher FIP?
  2. In some cases, yes, but they've also added a lot of non-revenue stuff (the RF pillar scoreboard, replacing the batter's eye, some of the CF stuff). It's not all "more bars and food", which I'm also not going to complain about. They've done a very good job with Target Field. We don't have to crap all over that effort just because we all agree they don't spend enough on payroll.
  3. Yeah, was using fWAR, as I think it's a better indicator of defensive- and park-neutral performance. (also clarifying that I *didn’t* check rWAR and then base a decision on what confirmed my opinion because had I checked rWAR, I would have referenced the discrepancy)
  4. I don’t care who they target because going for the “top starter” might be a bad proposition if the metrics don’t like his stuff. What I care about is overall spending. Spend wisely, but spend quite a bit more than they are now.
  5. Thank you for the clarification because that didn't seem right in my head. Guerra and Gomez highlighted that deal in my mind.
  6. Uh... not what I said. The starting pitching has been pretty mediocre over the past several weeks while the bullpen has been outstanding. I literally said I want more upside but I'm also giving credit to the bullpen for pitching some pretty amazing games. Why is it so hard to give credit to something we don't expect to do well but does anyway?
  7. I agree but is it really possible for their bullpen to pitch better than it has for the past few weeks? While I want the postseason upside, I'm not sure we can get much more regular season upside than we've seen recently.
  8. He has been playing in almost every game since his recall so you're already getting that wish. Twins fans: Play Arraez more! Twins: *plays Arraez in 19 of 21 games, starting him in 17 of said games* Twins fans: Play Arraez more! Twins: Seriously, are you even watching the games?
  9. Suggesting, no. It's reasonable. Expecting, no, that's not really reasonable. Cleveland could easily go 9-3. It's much more reasonable that they go 8-4 or 7-5 because that's how baseball works. Either way, it likely won't matter much. The Twins get the same cupcake schedule down the road. What will decide this division is the head-to-head games and the Twins just took two out of three in Cleveland. Cleveland is a decent team. The Twins are a better team. Without an ugly twist of fate, I'm not terribly concerned.
  10. You're talking about the team that lost 13-0 to Baltimore on consecutive nights just two weeks ago, right? Again, Cleveland has not suddenly become supernatural. Stop treating them as such.
  11. This is a terrible take. Cruz had a hell of a plate appearance but was fooled on one pitch and is perhaps the most professional hitter on a roster of very good hitters. Sano cannot be too walk-happy.
  12. Expecting a team to go 10-2/9-3 over any stretch of games is... well, a stretch. Cleveland will likely play well. They could go 9-3 but have a better chance of going 7-5. Stop pretending Cleveland, a team that has generally overperformed their peripheral numbers and a team the Twins just beat 2-1 in their home park, is suddenly supernatural.
  13. Next week is four days away so you may want to spend a little time counting to five and then do the math on that.
  14. Super fun. Let's just call it RubeChat.
  15. Baseball history and basic math disagree with you.
  16. Good God, are you people new to baseball? Gaining/losing six games in a week is basically unheard of and the Twins just went 2-1 against Cleveland in Cleveland. Boring pessimistic take is boring.
  17. So Cleveland will win out while the Twins get swept at home. Seems legit.
  18. No matter what happens, this is fun.
  19. HE ****ING WALKED THAT'S AMAZING
  20. Damn, this kid is a ****ing gamer.
  21. Ugh. As much as I blast Sano, that PA was bull****. Miguel held fast with borderline pitches and had them called against him (one wildly out of the zone, the other borderline at best).
  22. Ooh, Magill for Parker! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L09qnRfZY-k
  23. If you look at the time and political environment from which the battle flag was revived, it's not difficult to understand why it returned to prominence. And that's pretty shameful, no matter how or why someone flies it today.
  24. The only demographic that is conflicted about the existence of racism is white people. That should tell us something.
