  1. It's simpler than that. He's just not good at making contact. And that's okay, provided he's not terrible at making contact. As long as Sano maintains discipline and doesn't miss most of the pitches he swings at, he'll be okay because when he makes contact, baseballs go oblong.
  2. We all realize that Nelson Cruz has self-repairing nanobots running through his bloodstream, right?
  3. He's already running laps in section 302 and later plans to build a home for the less fortunate. Then he begins his usual nightly routine of high-fiving every person within a three mile radius before sitting down for a post-game dinner.
  4. The important-to-middle part of the bullpen isn't stressed at all right now. They've had a few days of rest.
  5. I'd take any two of Odorizzi, Gibson, and Pineda on two year deals if the yearly salary for both combined is under $28m. The Twins need a lot of pitching next year.
  6. I'd still prefer Odorizzi. Everyone seems to be so down on him and while I get his lack of endurance and the frustration that comes with it, the guy is still demonstrably the best starter not named Berrios.
  7. Statcasting a squirrel is perhaps my favorite baseball moment ever.
  8. Honestly, it should become a thing if Twins marketing knows what's good for them.
  9. HAHAHAHAHAH right between Max's legs!
  10. It's pretty depressing to see these players with 15+, 20+, 30+ homers on the season flash up their RISP stats and you see: 3 HR COME ON MAN
  11. About damned time. Atta boy, Max.
  12. Ugh. So the Cave bounce mattered exactly zero percent.
  13. Oh, that guy wearing the Cave jersey is Jake Cave. (honestly though, I don’t fault him for that, it was a pretty crap bounce and he had to play which way he thought it would bounce... he rolled the dice and lost)
  14. Who’s that guy wearing the Cave jersey tonight?
  15. He has also jacked at least two home runs to take the lead/tie late in a game over the past month, and those are just the homers I remember.
  16. I read this title and assumed it was a Randball's Stu article, thinking "Damn, Stu, that's harsh".
  17. I'll take Gibson's reliable mediocrity over Pineda not pitching for 1/3rd or more of a season.
  18. Well, sure, but the comment is more about the price versus utility of the player. Especially on the Twins, who can roll out a dislocated shoulder Buxton and get basically the same guy as a healthy Hamilton.
  19. Ouch. Wade is only a 50, I thought he was faster than that. We don't need an 80 speed (and is Hamilton really still an 80 speed?), only a fast guy who can go first to third, or second to home, which is more likely to be necessary than a stolen base.
  20. Critiquing single pitches a batter faces is a bad strategy. Baseball is hard. Sano has shown himself to be an extraordinary hitter for a couple of months now. He has fantastic plate discipline. But he’s also kinda bad at contact and that's including the improved version of Sano. Even Barry Bonds swung at bad pitches and missed pitches in the zone. If this game was so easy, .406 wouldn’t be a historical number to us.
