A terrible defender for a washed up pitcher is what this deal looks like. Is Cleveland that desperate for innings?

Desperate for pitching, more like.  At only two games back (currently leading the White Sox 5-3, bot 7), no reason for them not to think they can't still capture the flag.

Cleveland needed to turn shortstop over to one of their good young hot shot prospects who have only been getting snippets of time at the MLB level. Rosario was a thorn in the Twins side last year, so I'm not sorry to see him go. I do think the replacement(s) will be better for Cleveland.

Yeah . . . if they develop a theme and get some clutch performances over the last 2 months, a division crown is not out of the question for the Francona led Guardians.
