jokin Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Its interesting that in the second article that they have Willingham and Pelfrey in the 2016 projected lineup. And Presley listed as the DH makes it bizarre.
old nurse Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Bernie may have been a scout as his credential to write but I don't think he watched much of the Twins to write this piece. It would be the current roster adjusted with a couple prospects. Alternative theory is somehow Presley is going to hit like he did in Altoona, Willingham will have a monster year this year as well as found someone doing stem cell research and made his knees 20 years old. Then Bernie is a genius.
VandyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 And Presley listed as the DH makes it bizarre. Willingham in RF and Arcia in LF? And that Miguel Sano is only 6'3" and 195 lbs. He hasn't been that skinny since he was 16...but that's what you get when you only use baseball-reference. Add in that he calls Sano big at 195 but Buxton weights ONLY 189 lbs. His writing is even suspect. This whole piece reads like it was whipped together ripping off a bunch of prospect lists.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Not a fan of this piece, for the reasons cited already (May? Willingham?? Presley???). OTOH, it's outside the scope of the article to work through all the moves that would be necessary. E.g. if Dozier and Hicks are missing they probably didn't just vanish into thin air and whoever they get might factor into the lineup. This team is easy to forecast at certain obvious positions, but elsewhere it's just a guess.
Ncgo4 Verified Member Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 We all know about the top of the list prospects, but Thorpe & Polanco are the two that I will follow closely.
Billy Amick Wichita Wind Surge - AA 1B/3B Despite hitting just .194, the 23-year-old ranks fourth in the Texas League in Home Runs (17) and sixth in RBI (50). Explore Billy Amick News >
