This is a roster that suddenly has an extra Royce Lewis bouncing around, a pile of outfielders stacked up in AAA, more infielders on the way, and you want to keep Clemens? He's at best an average hitter, a meh fielder and a Great Guy. Sweet, happy for his wife, trade him. He's among the league leaders in defensive runs saved at 1B, which makes the meh comment, well, meh. His 118 OPS+ means he's currently 18% above average, which is statistically significant. You can claim he'll regress (in which case they probably won't find a willing trade partner), but at the moment, he is far different than the player you describe - other than the Great Guy part.

I'd be shocked if a Rogers could bring anything other than an open roster. Would you get more for Clemens than he helps you stabilize the long road back? Getting rid of Larnach saves $1.5 million, so trading him makes sense.
