Sano in HR Derby

Sitting here watching Bryce Harper hit makes me wonder how Sano would look right now. I think this topic has been brought up already. I have little doubt that he will be in it some day. How cool would it be to see him in the All-Star game next year.

He would get eaten up by most big league pitchers at this point, but in a HR Derby, he could compete with anyone. Obviously HR Derby results are pretty random, but he could compete.

You are being way too serious right now. I think its against the baseball law to be sober during the HR derby.

The thought of Sano in the derby next year makes my pants conspicuously tight. Obviously he'd have to have an incredible first half (or quarter) for his name to even be in consideration, but I can totally imagine him coming out of the gates hot and throwing up 20 quick HRs before AL pitchers figure him out.

I think they are talking about the Twins more than the Rockies with Cuddyer up. That can't thrill Colorado fans too much. How did I miss the bit that Cuddyer wears #3 with the Rockies to honor Harmon Killebrew. I wasn't aware of that. I want to cry.

Rockies are ignored by the national media more than the Twins. Remember when they went to the World Series. They had ONE nationally televised that year, and that was a tie-breaking game 163. Holliday didn't get MVP and Tulo didn't win ROY because the writers forgot the Rockies played baseball until most of the votes were sent in.

I'd love to see a HR derby between some of the Twins Top Prospects at Spring Training or upcoming Instructionals: I'm not sold that Sano runs away with it - I have my favorite!

Ha, ha. I had the exact same thought last night. Sano vs. Cespedes next year would be awesome. Assuming he's still with the Twins, Willingham will probably be in it next year and will probably be the AL captain, unless Morneau is still around for some reason. If both are gone, would they ask Mauer again?
