I'm glad you are so high on Royce. Maybe compare apples to apples though. Witt Jr. has 100+ PA every month. He hit .489 in July. Lewis has 143 PA for the 2024 year. If Lewis ever puts up the numbers Witt Jr. has this year, right now, the Twins and all of us will be ecstatic. I will grant you that Royce has had a few games or a week when he was spectacular. You have to go back to Tony Oliva for a Twin who did as many things as well as Witt Jr. and the KC shortstop is just getting started ... and Oliva was not a shortstop. In any event, I'm glad you are a fan of Lewis, I am too.

The Royals went out and got two more RP. Good for them. I do not root for them or want them to beat out the Twins, but I do want to acknowledge what they are accomplishing. I posted the ranking for each stat, both of which say the Twins bullpen has been significantly better. And you definitely want the pitcher with a better FIP in the playoffs.
Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 The Twins won the season series and when the Twins were healthy - or at least relatively healthy because they've never been fully at 100% this year - they didn't have any issues with Kansas City. Even last weekend, the Twins pissed two games away. The Royals are what they are and no, I don't take them seriously when we're talking about being able to make a legit post-season run.

A certain poster has been chasing me around all season but doesn't like to actually contribute anything of substance.
