Major League Ready Verified Member Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Puk brought a 50FV prospect. Kikuchi brought back two major league ready players and a AAA player. Bloss looks to be at least equivalent to Festa. What would comparable packages have looked like from the Twins?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 The Kikuchi trade is being widely panned as a bad trade. I don't know why anyone would make that deal. Puk brought back a 40+ and a 40 (on Fangraphs). Twins have 10 40+ guys and a handful of 40 guys. They likely could lose one of each and been just fine.
Major League Ready Verified Member Posted August 1, 2024 Author Posted August 1, 2024 We should add Flaherty to the discussion as well. They got a pretty good catching prospect so I seriously doubt Gonzalez or Raya would have gotten it done. Maybe Festa but probably Keaschall or Rodriquez.

For what it's worth MLB.com slotted him as the Marlins #7 prospect and have a 50 FV on him. Obviously, opinions vary on many players. Perhaps the Dbacks were asking for a 50 FV and their assessed value of De Los Santos was closer to MLB.com than Fangraphs. Mike Sixel 1
