East Coast Twin Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Sounds like Mastroianni will be out longer than anticipated: Placed on the disabled list one week ago with a stress reaction in his left ankle, the speedster initially had hoped to return within three weeks. However, that is sounding less likely by the day. The plan now is to have Mastroianni wear the walking boot another week or so, then undergo a third magnetic resonance imaging exam on his ankle. Even if he's able to escape the dreaded boot at that point, a lengthy period of rehabilitation figures to follow, including a minor league assignment. Oxtung Verified Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Man....so what do the Twins do now? They have a starting CF who is so bad offensively he is basically at record setting futility levels. Now you also have no one else on the 40 man roster that has experience or is capable of playing CF on a consistent basis. It seems clear to me that Hicks will basically be forced into continuing on as the every day CF because there is nobody to replace him. Do the Twins add Clete Thomas to the 40 man so they can have some depth at the CF position? Do they experiment with Arcia at CF? Start Escobar down the super utility path? What do people think?
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I'm intrigued by Antoan Richardson, personally.
twinscowboysbulls Verified Member Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I think it's probably just time to add Buxton to 40 man and start him in CF and cut Hicksy.
