Love the season...can't run with that bullpen

I have been gone from here for a long time, not posting, etc been busy with family life, work, etc. we all know how that goes.
I have been watching the Twins though and this so far has been a great season. The lineup we have here might be one of the best in Twins history. They have been a blast to watch. A few surprises in the rotation have also been pleasant and they have produced as good or better than anyone could have hoped. (Ordorizzi, Perez)

All that said, this bullpen needs work. We all knew going into the season that it could be or would be the team's weakness and even though they started out decent, most of this prediction is coming true.

The way I look at it, you have Trevor May and Taylor Rogers out there and that's it. Going after Kimbrel, well, I can't say that I am surprised, but for the money he got, I think it would have been a good risk. Who is out there this team could target in a trade? They need 2 guys and it's not really even debatable. This is the best Twins team we have had around here for a long time, and it would be a dirty shame if this FO didn't supplement them to make a real run at a WS.

Think about it. How long are we going to have all these guys around here on cheap deals? Also, some of the FAs they signed that are producing are on one year pacts as well. If there ever was a time to go all in, this is it.

I expect to see them be very aggressive in the next month or so. I want none other than the very best reliever available along with another one that is close to top tier. One more starter to pair with Berrios would be wise as well.

I really don't care about saving this guy(prospect) and saving that amount of money. The time is now. They are primed and ready. This is the same type of conundrum this organization was in the last time they had a good core with Hunter, Santana, etc. Here is your chance Mr. Pohlad and Mr. Wonderkid brainiacs. Make it happen.

I think they (Twins) have to grab one or two relievers via trade and that is tough. I think they can skate by with the current starting rotation but they could really use another good starter as well. Levin and Falvey have their work cut out for them down the stretch. If the Twins want a chance to go deep into the playoffs they need another good BP arm at the very least.

While I have shared the concern for the bullpen, what is tough is predicting/projecting performance. We can use Addison Reed as an example or Ryan Pressly as an example of someone who was middling and became a standout. There have been many articles written about relievers who were highly desired and how they panned out. Some guy who has been effective for this year wouldn't necessarily carry that forward if the Twins acquired him. Adding a reliever or two is important, adding the right relievers is the hard part.
