USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Nice comeback by the Twins to tie it up. Too bad no one is left to have witnessed it. I bet, though, that when we give up some more runs, there will be additional commentary on the failings of the system. G'night, all.pfft. A nice comeback would have put them in the lead.
Einheri Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Shouldn't we be trying out Polanco at 2B this year and then picking up a decent SS free agent to hold things down until Gordon or Lewis comes up?

Fargoguy Provisional Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 The only middle infielders who are free agents this year are Manny Machado, Escobar, and a bunch of old guys whose best baseball is behind them. I'm afraid that our 2019 middle infield is currently in our system.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 I didn't know Carmen was still performing.Well, if you count you in your Halloween costume last year, that was her last performance.
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 May is good when he is not opening
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 The JJ Hardy trade wasn't so hot either. Especially with how poorly the Nishioka experiment turned out.it wasn't, but Hicks is doing more this year than Hardy ever did with Baltimore and he has years to go, so I'll still give the Hicks trade the edge here for the worst
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Jim Hoey says howdey. / ninja'd while I was struggling with the image searchA close second, but still gotta give the Hicks trade the edge based on what he's doing this year, which is better than Hardy ever did for Baltimore, and he still has years to go
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 May is good when he is not openingIt also might have had something to do with facing the Astros lineup, which is quite the daunting task for any pitcher.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Well, if you count you in your Halloween costume last year, that was her last performance. Don't forget ModCon 2014!!
big dog Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 That was a really nice at bat by Garver. I like watching him hit with runners on. And Kepler!
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Brunansky for Herr was a doozie. And the one that sent Graig Nettles to Cleveland for one year of Tiant and Stan Williams wasn't particularly successful either. Granted that Williams had an excellent year in 1970, but then just kinda disappeared. That was before my time. I'll take your word for it though.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Twins are wearing out right field this inning.
S. Verified Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Sometimes I forget that despite our failures this year, we are still a better team than Detroit, KC, and Chicago. And then I wonder how we haven't won more games with them in our division.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Twins are wearing out right field this inning. It's ok. According to the terms of the agreement whereby Target Field was built, maintenance and normal wear and tear are the responsibility of ownership, not the taxpayers.
Fargoguy Provisional Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I still hate the Brunansky trade. We traded a slugging corner outfielder for a 32 year old 2nd baseman. It turned out that Bruno's best years were behind him, but I think he would have had a better career if he stayed in Minnesota. Herr was washed up when we got him. MacPhail should have known better. I remember his quote when a reporter asked why he did it. He said , "Someone would have burned my house down if I traded Kirby Puckett." That team needed a 2nd baseman, but that wasn't the way to address it.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 That was ASH??? He told me he was Snepp. Nope. Snepp had a beard then.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Nope. Snepp had a beard then. Both of you as I recall.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 These two teams are really bad, aren't they?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 It appears I'm the last one here. I'll turn out the lights. But before I go, I leave you with this: I was watching The Discovery Channel earlier tonight, and it turns out that stress is killing the coral reefs off of Australia. I wondered what could be causing stress for the coral, but then I figured it out. ... ... Current Events.
