Kyle Freeland, Most underrated pitcher in MLB this year.

For those who like ERA, he has an ERA under 3.00.  His FIP is 3.88, but the kicker is, half his games are played at Coors Field.

Another example of how the supposed experts, and people in general, are so quick to minimize Rockies batters' numbers no matter how great because of the Coors effect, but then completely disregard the Rockies starters even though the Rockies pitchers have the disadvantage of pitching at Coors.

This doesn't pertain to the Coors Field effect (which is a good observation I think), but I was trying to recall off the top of my head some of the names of pitchers in that draft class and wondering if the evaluators had a good year overall.

Obviously, the Astros and the Marlins wish they could change their selections from Aiken and Kolek to Rodon. But Nola, Freeland, and Newcomb are later first-rounders who have been excellent, and a few of the HS pitchers are on schedule. To me, it looks like a terrific draft class and a good year for the scouts.

Freeland was expected to go higher, I think, until he had some health problems?

But yeah, he'd very likely have even better numbers and recognition with another team.

And the Cards: Jack Flaherty and Luke Weaver in that draft class. Just wow.
