Jeferson {sic} Morales, a 5' 9" catcher for the DSL Twins with a current slash line of .351 .526 .526 1.052 stole three bases today, stealing 2nd in the 5th inning, and then stealing 2nd and then home in the 9th.

I'm most intrigued by the 18/5 walk/strikeout ratio.

According to today's box score, they had another catcher today who's only hitting .286.

He looks like a late IFA signing or something. He's 19, which means he'd be 20 stateside next year. Not old for the GCL, but not young either. He has no history prior.

He was an outfielder and the Twins spent time converting him to catcher.  Thus the lack of prior official games.

 

Average age in the GCL this season is 19.8 and in the Twins GCL team 20.6, so age is not much of a matter

I just prefer he be something lower than league average. He won't be in the states next year (unless they jump him straight to Etown or CR, but I highly doubt that). 

 

That said, I love the results. If he keeps it up, they will move him quick I'd think.
