Taking a pitch off the wrist is how you break your wrist, should we not send players up to hit? I think you play the game hard and accept there are always injury risks. In a case like this, a headfirst slide away from the catcher might even have less chance of injury, since it minimizes the chance of contact. WLFINN, ashbury and howieramone2 3
