I always recall postings from TwinsFest, this year I find none. Did I miss something???

Just seems weird this year............ any reasons as to why no postings???

I live out of state and have always wanted to go.  Is it worth attending?  Is it kid friendly?  What parts would you definitely do?  What parts would you skip?

You missed it by a few days! Yes, it's fun but after going many times, I think I've decided this was my last for awhile. Very kid friendly, but not particularly inspiring for an adult unless you enjoy paying money for autographs. It is fun to see the club house and walk around Target Field.

I know we missed this year.  I was just curious if it would be worth going to and if so how kid friendly it is.

I go every year to collect autographs from prospects, (mostly because they're free), watch player interviews for excellent tidbits and to bid on silent auction items since I'm a memorabilia junkie. There are just as many events to entertain adults as there are events to entertain the kids.

The Twins did something very unique this year. Kids could earn Twins Bucks while playing games. Twins Bucks could then be used in a Kid's silent auction to purchase items such as tickets to games, going onto the field before/after games, access to batting practice, etc. From a couple of volunteers I know personally, that seemed to be a really big hit. Although to have a shot at being a silent auction winner, kids would have to go multiple days to collect enough of the Twins Bucks.

Needless to say, it's just as kid friendly, if not more, as it is adult friendly.

I brought my daughter when she was 2 or 3 in the Metrodome. That's just work and she got nothing out of it, other than she enjoys looking at pictures of herself there.

I took her with me again this year. She's 11, almost 12. We went to the Diamond Awards on Thursday night. She was probably one of 3-4 kids there, so not necessarily a great event for her, though as some of seen or read or heard, we got to talk and take pictures with Dozier, Mauer, Gibson, Hildenberger, etc.

As for Twins Fest, we went Friday, and it was just for her. I don't do the autograph thing. I just don't feel it's right for me to do so, though I'm sure I could. But yeah, autographs aren't always cheap. Some were as high as $25-30. The $5-15 lines aren't quite so spendy and a lot of times those have 4-5 players in them.

Target Field is pretty neat to be at, even in the winter. You do get to see areas of the building that most of us don't see. The clubhouse, the champions club, etc., are where there are fun events. I think the Twins do a great job of making the players accessible, and they all seem to enjoy Giant Foosball, Giant Connect 45, pop-a-shot, etc. This year there was a kids area where they could color and do other things like that. TC Bear was there a lot.

I would say that if you have an 11-12 year old... it's pretty easy to spend money!!

I was happy to see the prospects autograph signings were free this year, they had been in the past but I think they were making people pay for them at some point. I didn't have a chance to do it this year but that was always one of my favorite things, sometimes their lines aren't too long and you can talk to them as well.
