puckstopper1 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 I just looked at Kyle Gibson's basic stats from last year to this year. SEASON TEAM GP GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB SO W L SV HLD BLSV WAR WHIP ERA2016 MIN 25 25 1 0 147.1 175 89 83 20 55 104 6 11 0 0 0 0.6 1.56 5.072017 MIN 27 27 0 0 147.1 170 87 83 21 58 109 11 10 0 0 0 0.4 1.55 5.07 How freaky similar are these seasons! Now this will change as Gibson gets a couple of more starts before the end of the season, but WOW! I know he has pitched better since July, but these stats over the next two season leave me *really* hoping that the FO is not relying on him for next season.
drjim Provisional Member Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Price will be right to have him as the 5th starter going into spring training.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 If he's one of 3 or 4 people fighting for the #5 spot in ST I wouldn't mind it, I guess. Though I'd be worried that his price tag and lack of options would factor into their decision to give him the spot by default.
