Top Gun Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Every game should matter, but a few heads should roll, starting at the top!
Highabove Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Nick Blackburn Four year Scholarship?
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 How long do you keep running Blackburn out there? October 2013. I cried a little bit. Touching' date=' your [u']realism[/u]. :):):) Just to be clear, I took October 2013 as if he's pitching in the playoffs -- optimism.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Realism here. I think Blackburn starts until the rosters are expanded. I'd love to see both Hendriks and Vasquez start games with Blackburn mothballed--he really can't do anything about this year anyway. The other deletion? Possibly Diamond, but Duensing or De Vries also could be options. I realize adding Vasquez would impact on the 40-man, but as long as Nishioka is on that roster, there's room for one to be added.

"And more than that"! Seriously, there are at least 8-10 other guys besides Nishi on the 40 man that no one would touch.

Hopefully it was clear that I meant he would finish next season as a member of our rotation, but I wasn't clear, sort of similar to how I had your TD name wrong for a awhile and I screwed the pooch on both of those issues. If Blackburn is a member of our rotation next year, I fear that everyone's optimism will be met with great disappointment. I hope I never have to hear the words "Nick Blackburn" after this season. He was given a more than reasonable opportunity (understatement).
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Bark, yes you were clear. Realistically Blackburn will be pitching all of next season. That's a different kind of crying altogether.

More with the theme of a "different kind of crying altogether" alert for tonight's game on the Twins website: Span and Revere are "Day to Day" once again, only shockingly enough, not today. Carroll leading off, Mastro second, Carson and Pokemon at the bottom of the order. Bench PH "strength" again ably supplied by Butera and Casilla.

That was the sound made from the section of my brain that handled disappointment collapsing on itself.
