Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 OK... maybe I should have worded it as "had an opportunity to win."And lost that opportunity because our shallow / shaky bullpen was repeatedly exposed. This is supposed to make us feel better how?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Does anyone else think Kepler could have stolen home off of Kenley Jansen in the 9th inning last night? Didn't realize that Jansen had such a slow set delivery. I thought Mauer should have stolen home off Maeda Tuesday night too. Kepler would need to get a good feel for Jansen's move, and of course a good jump. I assume Molitor would provide cover if Kepler is tagged out. I think it would have been worth a shot.
Kwak Verified Member Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 LA started all three games with their "spare parts-type" SPs--kind of like this is an exhibition game/series. Houston used a similar strategy. It is as it the "Twins don't matter" in their perspective. Given the final results, apparently they are correct. Pretending that today's 49-51 record means "they are almost there" ignores the bitch-slapping the Twins get when facing the top teams. Unless "there" is a .500 record and endless "what if" story lines for beer bars, blogs and Bremer. Taildragger8791 1
