D. Hocking Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I like when Joe has days like this over days when the main discussion is why did he not swing at the first pitch.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 You are asking "for a friend" imaright?Ha. No I asked the guy to eat quieter. Didn't go over too well.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 It took Justin Morneau 4 years to recover from his 2010 concussion. It's now been close to 4 years for Mauer. Can we finally be seeing the recovery?

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 You're right. At least you're in the majority. I'm usually not in the majority the majority of the time.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Mauer finally passes Baumgartner in HRs for the first time in the season.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Update: Joe Mauer is one triple away from the cycle. Yes, you saw that correctly. Joe Mauer is one triple away from a cycle.

Can we finally be seeing the recovery?I've tried this comp several times before, but it hasn't worked yet. However, Joe has raised his average 15 points this afternoon.

Can we finally be seeing the recovery? I think in general, last year was better than the other post-concussion seasons, but then I think he was hurt at the end (was it a hamstring) and instead of putting him on the DL he tried to play through it the last 6 weeks which tanked his stats. Molitor said in retrospect they should have DLed him in August. But yes, would be nice to see more results like this (being Mr. Obvious).
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Mauer's having a day. The Twins need to win this sucka! We need to get this home field curse turned into home field advantage! Burn the Rays to the MFin' ground.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Update: Joe Mauer is one triple away from the cycle. Yes, you saw that correctly. Joe Mauer is one triple away from a cycle. And now you've jinxed it. Sigh.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 That was huge. Crowd should be fired up for a rally in the bottom of the 8th here.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Nice day for Mauer, but his "reverse stretch" at first base almost cost them in the top of 8.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 And now you've jinxed it. Sigh.No problemo. Gives Mr. Mauer and excuse.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 And now you've jinxed it. Sigh.Or...set up Mauer for the elusive walk-off triple? Edit: Trying to envision how to accomplish. Clearly it involves an overthrow at third that allows him to scamper (yes, scamper) home with the winning run.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Rosie's not gonna walk twice IN THE SAME GAME!?
Blake Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Which one is the most unexpected: Rosario walking twice in the same game or Mauer being one triple away from a cycle?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Which one is the most unexpected: Rosario walking twice in the same game or Mauer being one triple away from a cycle? Rosario walking twice for sure.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Rosario's been reading TD Falvey and Levine insist on it -- making the team read TD was one of their selling points when they interviewed.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Rosario walking twice for sure. I thought the proper answer was "Yes." I award you no bonus points.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Would you run for Castro to try to stay out of the DP? Presumably with Adrianza.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 And the Rays have to pitch to Dozier. Cool.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 Because it's not going to be a big upgrade to do it. Pinch hitting Sano for, say, Castro in, say, the 8th inning? Of course. I liked Castro's at bat in front of a hot Brian Doizer
