Where are they now 2017 off season

In an off season filled with waiting for moves and questions about why they have not done more the local club has jettisoned 25% of their 40 man roster. With the DFA of Byung Ho Park I asked myself where they all are now so I made a list

Logan Schafer signed an MiLB contract with the Orioles

Tommy Milone signed with the Brewers for 1.25 million

Pat Dean will play for the Kia Tigers for 900K

Andrew Albers signed another MiLB contract, this time with Atlanta

James Beresfrd is a free agent

ABW- landed in the Brewers MiLB system

Trevor Plouffe signed with the A's for 5.25 million

Kurt Suzuki is with Atlanta for 1.5 million with another million in incentives

Juan Centeno signed an MiLB contract with the Astros

Yorman Landa passed away after a car accident 8 days after his release

Byung Ho Park-TBD

With so few signings and no trades it has felt so quiet but our 40 man has a lot of changes. Much of that is addition by subtraction. One trend that sticks out to me is big power with lots of strike outs has not impressed Falvey/Lavine. The other trend I see is good defensive metrics for catchers has the eyes of the new brass twinkling.

I think ABW is in the Orioles milb system, not the brewers.

Whoops, yeah, my bad but no. He was waived by the Orioles and claimed by the Braves. He cleared waivers with them and was sent down.

I think most teams, most offseasons have a lot of 40-man roster activity of this caliber though (Schafer, Dean, Albers, Beresford, etc.).  I don't think it's particularly meaningful.

The non-tender of Plouffe was not surprising -- he wasn't going to be worth his arbitration award this winter.

We'll see what happens with Park, but I still suspect he was DFA'd because he was most likely to clear waivers, not necessarily as part of a philosophical change.

Signing Castro is still the only really notable move (and maybe by extension the minor league deal for Chris Gimenez).

This sentence sparked a question In my head so I thought I would do some research. The first 4 teams I looked at actually averaged 19 guys off the 40 man roster. Of course some of these were claimed/waived/sent to minors and thos teams also averaged 4 guys traded off the 40 man. The 5th team had 6 and one of those was a trade.

After the fifth team I decided to look in our division. Cleveland was the only one to reach the 10 threshold so we have had the most 40 man change in the division. The royals had only 7 and 3 of those were traded away.

It's too much work for this tired guy to look at more teams.

The couch is calling...

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what it is you're talking about. I have no doubt that you researched something, but even for money, I wouldn't be able to tell you what it is.

Well, I apologize then. The original post mentioned that the Twins had turned over more than 25% of the 40 man roster this off season. They did this while leaving the feeling like they had done very little (no trades, Castro and Belisle signings) With today's moves, Pat Light is the 12th person removed from the Twins 40 man roster since the season ended.

Spy cake indicated that it seemed most teams had a high number of moves every off season so I looked at what teams have done to their 40 man rosters this off season. How many players have various teams removed from their 40 man roster since the WS? My ramblings were a quick look at 5 random teams and then the rest of our division. Now to bed...

No need to apologize. I appreciate the clarity. I'm on mobile, so the thread opens to the first unread post and I was just so puzzled as to what was being said. It makes total sense now with the context.
