DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Going to get the old man a smoker for Christmas. For someone that would be a beginner at smoking mostly meats and salmon, what is a good one to purchase? -I would like it to be electric/temp controlled type, where it doesn't need you to be constantly messing with it.-Would like to keep the price somewhat reasonable if possible: $500-$1000. That 2500:1 Twins winning the world series bet didn't happen Thanks!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 Oh also any tricks or tips would be great as well!
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Get that Davy Crockett boy! It's an electric pellet smoker. Can even get ones you can control with an app on your phone. I don't have one but I've used one and everyone that owns one loves it.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 The Masterbuilts are among the best out there, I had one for years and it worked great. The Bradley's are also very good, I have the original smoker 4 rack, really like it. The Bradley's have a neat auto bisquette add feature which is really handy.
