Thibs sucks.

They need to bring in a guy like Hoiberg.

Good lord. This season is still young but already looking like another frustrating year with no playoffs.

Dude, that's a whole lotta crazy.

Dude, that's a whole lotta crazy.

Not really.

Thibs is stuck in his old stupid ways, he destroyed players in Chicago by overplaying them and is going to do the same to the T Pups.

They were up 25+ with 5 min left and still had every starter not named Rubio in the game the other night. Dumb! Dumb! Dumb!

Also they are soft as ****.

Fair point, but the ~7minute collapse has been happening since game one. All but four games by my count. The problem is that they can't handle momentum swings. They go into a panic and start making bad decisions, everyone trying to be a hero.

Kids...

I think part of it though is the main lineup consists of one point guard, two shooting guards and two centers. There are always going to be mismatches to be had, and coaches making millions are going to be smart enough to exploit them. Boston came back because they found the mismatches (Brown on Wiggins in the post and Towns/Dieng chasing Jerkebo outside) and the offense seemed too gassed to take advantage of the Jerkebo mismatch on Dieng/Towns on the other end of the court.

The next big piece this team needs is a guy off the bench who can be a big ball 3/small ball 4 so you can put Wiggins at the 2 when needed or sit Dieng and have a guy who can chase stretch fours outside. If it were my team, I'd be looking to drop Lucas for a D-Leaguer who fits that bill. Four point guards and four wings isn't smart roster construction.

Yes, absolutely. Wiggins struggles against bigger wings and a backup that could take some of that defensive workload off of him would be great. And don't even get me started about Dieng at the 4.

Rubio is not the problem unless you somehow have a plan to add a near elite PG. The list above is a fantasy since none of those guys are getting moved. I assume Mudiay is a typo since he shoots as bad as Rubio.

Mudiay can at least score by driving to the basket.

He's also a rookie and can improve his shooting. Rubio isn't going to get any better.

Westbrook for Wiggins...good one.

Lowry, Thomas, Lillard? Lillard?!! For Wiggins? Come on man. No one is going to make that move. And if I were Thibs & Co., neither would I. It just doesn't add up for anyone. So, sorry, guess we're stuck with the next James Harden.

Well we can move on from Wiggins since it seems to be distracting from the point.

Just find a PG, I don't care how. It's not my job to figure out how.

Other teams have good point guards and they weren't all top 3 picks.

The Wolves should have another high lottery pick in the next draft, hopefully they can find one there and we can keep Wiggins and Levine and all be happy.

Don't need a near elite PG, just someone the other team has to at least cover with one defender would do wonders.

Personally, I believe it's a fallacy that Point Guards have to be able to shoot to be effective. It's a good tool that you'd wish everyone to have, but Rubio is an ELITE playmaker and defender. He creates points without getting buckets, and offense is not the Wolves' problem.

I don't need points from my PG but I at least need someone who is at least a threat to make a basket so that the other team has to commit someone to defending him.

You admit that defense is the problem, then get annoyed when I suggest trading Wiggins. How to suppose we get better defensively?

By learning how to play the game from the Pai Mei of defense?  Doesn't that seem like a start?

Wiggins has the defensive tools to be good. It remains to be seen whether or not he realizes any of that potential. I think he would benefit greatly though from guarding the smaller wing. If the Wolves could find a biggish wing with solid defense that could play 24-30 minutes/gm and allow Wiggins to guard a smaller wing then I think he would look a lot better defensively.

I think the defensive problem comes from Dieng trying to guard small 4's and not being able to match up on the perimeter. Lavine doesn't help either.

omg MN is the ultimate hell for a sports fan. They aren't even losing to good teams. That is my biggest frustration right now.

We don't want more lottery picks. We want wins.

Nice win....but then again these are the sort of teams the T Pups should be beating anyways if they want to be a playoff caliber teams.

Jones looked awesome.

Correct. Jones may not be the long term option, but provided he can stay out of foul trouble on a nightly basis, he should be the main point guard going forward.

Maybe mix in Rubio more often against dynamic offensive point guards that Jones can't defend.

Let's pump the brakes a little.

Let's pump the brakes a little.

Why? Whenever Jones has played this year he's looked like the better fit- to be perfectly clear, I'm not saying he's a better player than Rubio. He just seems to be a much better fit for whatever reason.

It's not working with Rubio, sorry. It's nothing personal against Rubio, I've never heard a bad word about the guy.

Because just a week or two ago the Wolves looked like a successful 3 pt shooting team but since then they have been bricking it. Let's see him sustain this level for a little longer than a handful of games.

Jones is making a good case for the backup PG role over Dunn though. He seems like a great disrupter/energy guy to bring in with the 2nd team which lacks any sort of go to guy.

Well I didn't say we should release Rubio, so it's not like you are stuck if you go with Jones and he cools off.

He has good chemistry with Wiggins and Towns, so I don't see why you'd want to keep him with the second team.

Why not increase Jones's role to 15-20 minutes/gm to see if he can sustain this type of performance more than a handful of games?

Sure that is fine. I'm just saying I want those minutes to be with Towns and Wiggins, not with the second team.

Allow me to distilll this ongoing argument, if I may.

Tyus deserves more minutes. Tyus should be considered a candidate for the starting point guard of the future.

One of those things we pretty much all agree on. Regarding the other, it appears mr. Brooks stands alone.
