USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 September 11th. Everyone please take just a moment today to remember what happened 15 years ago. 15 years. Time flies. Not to turn this into something morbid, but take a moment today to hug your loved ones. Maybe reach out to someone you've lost touch with, or maybe are still angry with over something inconsequential. Give thanks for those among us who run towards danger on our behalf when the need arises. Me...I'm with two grandchildren today, and there is literally nothing on this earth that gives me more joy. So I won't be around much...if someone could add the lineups, I'd appreciate it. Make us proud, Berrios!

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I'm waiting for a customer to show up to a virtual meeting requested a half hour ago, so also am scarce. Interesting lineup.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Who is this Vargas guy why isn't Suzuki DH-ing?
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Logan Schafer ... WHY!?!? I was behind Walker/Palka not getting a callup since it didn't look like there'd be much playing time for them, but seeing Schafer in there almost everyday, Suzuki DHing, Beresford playing 1B it's making less and less sense. And why is Berrios continually saddled with Centeno? The one advantage of still having Suzuki on the roster is he's a vet who you'd think could be a positive influence on guys like Berrios.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Gardy was famous for these moves. He made Pinto Dedunos personal catcher, and then complained that Pinto couldn't catch. While no one will confuse Pinto with Mauer, the good lord could not look good catching Deduno. Vargas does not PH last night? With a long bench? I would let Beresford play before Shaefer, at least there's loyalty in play. While I do not think Molitor picks the lineup out of a hat, I do think all the coaches throw nine names in their own hat, and Molitor just picks the hat.

jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Did Berrios run over Molitor's dog or something? Yikes. Time for AAA Berrios shows up today.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Did Murphy catch Berrios in Rochester? I'm not a big believer in "personal catchers," but if they worked together in AAA and it worked pretty well, why not pair them up up here and see if it helps him settle in a bit? If he didn't, I guess it probably doesn't matter.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I'm sure glad we're getting a good look at Schafer for next years big run.

Rosterman Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Okay, WHY isn't Murphy at least catching Berrios. They seemed to speak the same language in Rochester, why not continue at the major league level. WHy isn't Vargas at first base. If Vargas is to be a aprt of the 2017 Minnesota Twins, he ahs to show he can play first base. Why isn't Sano playing EVERY REMAINING game at third base. Again, he has to show he can handle the position. Beresford at 1st Base. Okay, I guess he started playing there this season (after 1000 game at other positions). I'm glad we are getting a great look at Logan Schafer. I understand Adam Walker is enjoying his time off watching the Saints in the playoffs. A beautiful day at Target Field. You are coming off of a one-game winning streak. You should have a nice crowd coming to see the hometown team play. Who knows, this may be the Twins best and biggest game ever! Go figure! Except for Dozier, this is the Twins minimum wage lineup!

Except for Dozier, this is the Twins minimum wage lineup!I wondered pretty much all of those things myself. The amount of PAs Schafer is getting is asinine, the lack of reps Sano isn't getting at 3B is unfathomable and, unless Murphy wasn't catching Berrios at AAA, there's no reason he shouldn't be catching him here. It's almost as if Molitor is trying to see how committed Pohlad is to him by trotting out the least competitive lineup possible.

jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 This could be the Rochester lineup with Dozier on injury rehab ...Meh, with Logan and Jimmy in it, it seems more like a Rochester Honkers lineup.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 The Twins will play their star players on the road trips.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Was just going to type that Berrios reminds me of the Batman TV show, when the announcer sez at the end of each episode, "Will our Caped Crusader escape from the Riddler's trap? Will his ward Robin come to the rescue in time? Tune in Thursday, same bat time, same bat channel." But Berrios doesn't escape. The 3-run homer is the reality. Nuts.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I'm using today as a scouting video. I imagine this will be the lineup I'm subjected to when I go to Zubaz night. At least I'll get Zubaz, today I'm just getting angry.

jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Do you think we might see Milone or May today!?We've seen Dean, so you've pretty much seen Milone. And Albers. They're all the same (inept) pitcher.
